Okay, so I side RP with some of my friends and it was my turn to write the plot/setting....and it was kinda epic enough that I wanted to share it. Kinda tempted to What If it here...
Ten to Twenty years from now. 2012 did indeed happen...though it passed by unknown to the general population. What happened? Only certain people really know. What happened was a wave of energy, and it changed the DNA in certain people. Panic occured, but silently. Because other's had been waiting. They knew this would occur before it did, and they gathered those affected. Why? Because they had been born affected and knew it was coming. Plus they needed to train them.
Once trained they could live a normal life, or work for the company as well. As a Gatherer, one who finds others affected, because one in five can be affected and not awake for years later. As a Hunter, one who hunts and takes down those who use the DNA change for evil. As a Teacher, one who seeks to teach those newly affected. Or lastly, as a Blank, one who keeps those who know from revealing about the Affected.
What happens to the Affected? Depends. It can turn them into something similar to a Vampire, who craves blood...at least a pint every 24 hours. A Witch, which varies and is mostly elemental. As a Shifter, who can change their shape. A Mimic, who can adopt the same shape as others. Or something new...new Affected pop up all the time.
The Company seeks to find new Affected, train them, and squash those who wish to inform the world of the Affected...all while preventing any form of panic from occuring.
