This was getting ridiculous.
The brunette ran a hand through her hair, one sculpted brow arched over narrowed eyes, lips twisted to form a threatening scowl. The brat pack were falling apart--big time. It was a fucking disgrace.
And it was partly her fault.
You see, the BP breaking up? That, she could handle. Nightmares and waking up in the middle of the night? She could handle those, too; it took some time, but she got over it, didn't she? But the BP breaking up because of her? She couldn't deal with that. She wouldn't. They would not fall apart because of her. She wouldn't allow it.
Letting out a small, infuriated sigh, she gently massaged her right temple, the stress beginning to build up. She knew she was being hard on herself, she wasn't idiotic. But the game--the fucking game had hit them all where it hurt, just like Julian had wanted. The memories were still crystal clear, no matter how hard she tried to get rid of them. Cloud, dying. Bleeding. Then blaming her. Hating her.
She drew in a sharp intake of breath, ignoring the familiar pangs of pain, brows furrowing to form a frown. She would have been proud, the way she could deal with the whole situation, if only she'd been like that since the beginning. It hurt to think about it, they way she tried to leave the pack, filled with nothing but anger and blame, a ball of hatred. But she was different now.
She was angrier.
And that helped, somehow.
Truth was, Lightning had fucked up; her friendship with Raea (scratch that, the whole BP) were at it's last strands--speaking of which, she still needed to talk to her; Cloud, presumably sick and tired of consoling her had vanished, and Ty? Well, she never knew with him. She didn't have time for him, anyway. She had a pack to save.
First step: Restore the leader.
She, having spent the past few weeks wallowing in her own pathetic grief (it only occurred to her the other day that she wasn't the only one suffering), didn't exactly know what the others went through during the games, but she got the gist of it. She'd gotten a hold of Panda-bear, and heard that their great leader had fallen due to a boy.
As odd as it sounded--Sephora, the man hater, down due to exactly one?--Lightning could hardly blame her; she knew how it could damage a person. Love. The way it wrapped it's way around your heart in a warm embrace, holding it dearly, making it go thump, thump , thump, exposing you to hope, and maybe, just maybe pure happiness. The way it would tighten it's hold, it's embrace suddenly choking, painfully, slowly but surely ripping the heart in two; and you, stupid, naive little you, never realising until it was all too late.
Yes. She knew love all too well.
Or, what she thought was love.
But long story short, the blue fledgling had a list, and she was damn sure going to cross off each and every point off. Even if it meant hunting down a certain Seth Horus, and beating the shit out of him.
Well, wasn't she best friend of the year.
The brunette stepped lithely across the courtyard, dressed all don't-fuck-with-me, complete with shorts, drop arm top and army boots. She flung open the door to the boys dorms and she stepped in, heading straight for the halls, having already found out that Seth Horus lived on the first floor. She felt a harsh tug on the back of her top, and she twirled around, one brow arched. Nothing. Soft snickers at the other side of the room betrayed two fifth formers lounging on a couch, and paused, a wry smile playing on plush lips.
Telekinesis.
Interesting.
"I suppose you find that funny," she murmured coolly, hip cocked and one hand gently resting against it. The two smirked, and one of them--obviously the one with the power--shrugged, flinging an arm across the back of the couch.
"Hilarious."
She arched a brow.
Flexing her fingers, she felt her affinity surge through her arm, the usual glow of warmth seeping downwards and pooling into the middle of her palm. With an elegant flick, she curled her fingers, so that electricity formed into a small ball. Almost lazily, she threw the orb towards the boys, letting out a small laugh when they yelled. "Hilarious indeed." With a smug smirk, she glided out of the room, leaving the two behind, shocked and somewhat dazed. She reached the dorm she wanted, and forming a tight fist, she knocked loudly once, twice, three times, before yelling, "Seth Horus, open the fucking door."
She considered giving him time to open the door, but patience was never her strong suit.
Flicking a few strands of hair out of her eyes, she grabbed the door handle, and twisted, blue eyes widening in surprise when the door gave way. Unluckily--or luckily, if you thought about it--the door was already unlocked; Lightning would have to wait for her dramatic entrance for another day.
Barging in, she quickly made her way towards the heap of blonde on the bed, thanking her luck that his roommate was out.
"Seth Horus?"
The brunette reached forward and lightly touched his arm--expelling a small, but large enough, amount of electricity as she did so, giving him a shock big enough to hurt, but only just. She pulled back, teeth grit, brow arched, and hands on hips.
"We need to talk."
NOTES: lol ok so obvioussssssslyyyyyyyyyyyy it's shit, but forgive me ok i haven't posted with her in years and idk it's 6 am and i'm tired FORGIVE ME

Seth didn’t feel like moving. When was that ever new? Not since the game with Julian. Oh sure, he had been on the “winning” side if you wanted to get all technical, he had been one of those that worked for Julian. It seemed like an easy enough gig and it allowed him to start feeling bad again because Seph had started to make him feel too…pure. And that was wrong for some reason. Mostly because Seth’s brain didn’t work in normal ways, oh no, not at all. He didn’t like the idea of going soft, who did? But there was a certain reason with him.
Because when he had been good and soft, twice, he had gotten his ass kicked. It was just not a good idea. He had died once when he was on the straight and narrow. So being an asshole had been his way to protect himself. And he was damn good at that. He played a game of his own with most chicks. He got bored too easily, so he would find challenge girls, he would get them to fall for him and not be a challenge anymore, he would sleep with them.
And he would move on.
The exception to that had been Seph. She had reeled him in and he had found himself staying with her again and again and ignoring other conquests, often stuck thinking about her. And he was not thinking the L word right now, thank you, he was so afraid of that word. Afraid he would be hurt again like when he had let himself love Fae. He winced at the name. She had torn him apart, and he wouldn’t let that happen again.
So he had sided with Julian to get a little thrill of being on the dark side again.
If he had known that Seph was in that house he would have never done it. He would have steered clear. He hadn’t known she was until one moment she was there, and telling him that he was nothing to her anymore, accusing her, hurt, and then he had broken her. And then he had gotten another blow to the heart that had killed him later on, but that one he tried to ignore because it was better not to think about it. He didn’t want to dwell on the ultimatum that Julian had given him after the game.
He had given her back her necklace two nights ago apparently. He barely remembered. He had been drunk when he had finally managed to do it, and he blacked out the whole thing. He vaguely remembered kissing her but he figured that had to be prt of a dream because there was no way that she would have let him do that. She hated him. That wouldn’t have happened. He did know he had fallen asleep in her room though. And now he didn’t even have any reason to possibly see her again because she had her necklace back.
He ran his hand over his face, dragging it along his features and distorting them. He was being slightly masochistic and entirely pathetic right now. Darius would kick his ass if he knew. Seth needed to pull himself together and stop thinking about her all the damn time, but he couldn’t get her out of his head. She was all he thought about and it was starting to drive him up a wall. She had to hate him and she had to think that he hated her. That was the only way to keep her safe.
And safe and hating him was better than dead and knowing he l…no. Didn’t love. But cared for her. He couldn’t love. He wouldn’t allow himself to even consider that word, never again.
But shit what else could it be.
He groaned and mashed his pillow into his face. Shit he was being such a girl.
Serenity, his tiny gray tabby kitten, leapt up onto his chest where she proceeded to happily purr. He peeked at her with an arch of a brow that lacked its usual sarcasm and wit. Everything about him lacked his usual sarcasm and wit.
He would have said something to her too about her landing on his chest and looking so pleased with herself too, but there was someone at his door. He barely recognized the voice, just realized it was one of Seph’s friends and then decided he wasn’t fucking answering. Maybe she would go away. She was one of the ones he had had to keep calm for Darius to knock out and take to the game. He recognized that much from her voice and he really didn’t feel like dealing with any of that revenge shit right now. Or her deciding to tell him about Seph.
He was just hoping she would fuck off. But he had forgotten that Darius had left the door unlocked because he currently could not find his key when he left. He was going to kill his roommate. Because low and behold, the little brunette was suddenly in his room. She said his name and he arched a brow a bit. Shit what was her name? Not Red, definitely not Raea, not Cris because she was the one Darius was off sleeping with, shit, who was it? Lightning. Right, that one. Everything about him was missing his usual sarcastic sparkle that made him actually seem alive. ”Lightning, right?” he said, managing to remember her name. He just wanted to know what she wanted.
She grabbed his arm and he felt a spark, that made him jump. Shit that hurt a little. Out of automatic habit he let his own affinity loose, automatically sending out his calming aura that made everyone in the room with him relax. ”Hey, I don’t care about me, but try not to shock the kitten, kay? She’s a pain in my ass but she’s mine” he grumbled, scooping up the kitten and placing Serenity down on his side table. He actually adored Serenity, but he made it seem like he couldn’t stand her outwardly, only Seph and Darius knew he adored her. He had to protect the tough guy image.
He sat up with that, and then arched a brow again. She wanted to talk, well fine, she could talk. But she shouldn’t expect much out of him. He was too busy off in his own head these days.
