The wind made it hard for him to fly, Nahuel always had trouble judging how the wind might change. He yelped as the wind stopped pushing him towards his destination. He felt drawn to the area, like something was calling him. He flapped his wings and gained the height back in a few seconds and flaps of his wings. He saw the school getting closer, but he was still far away, someone might or might not notice his arrival. It was night, and it was cloudy, so the stupid townsfolk wouldn't see him. Humans were so weird, they were like sheep, following the one with the hay. He scoffed at the silly views of the People of Faith, who looked like they were the ones with the hay for now. He wondered how his father was, Kalona, and his brothers. He hasn't seen them in the longest time, the last time he saw them was when his father got caught in the earth. He flew over a high school and saw a group of students leaving, he heard some things like, "Venus is bright tonight" and "That "Terminator" movie was pretty cool". Must have been an after school club, he thought. He angled his wings when he saw the front gates in his vision. He saw some lights on at the school, which meant classes were going. He saw some students walking around outside and noticed the red and blue markings. Red? He thought they were rumors! He blinked when he thought he saw someone with wings, were those his brothers?

Life seemed pointless, disappointing--and perhaps it was.
The Raven Mocker rose from his bed, turning to glance at the girl beside him. She was beautiful, he supposed (not that he'd have one any other way), with her midnight hair and pale complexion, complete with a heart-shaped face and full lips--much like someone else. Someone he didn't want to think about.
Pushing all thoughts about her out of his mind, he leaned forward, trailing a finger down the jawline of the girl, tracing a vein along her neck. These black fledglings. So easy to please, and deceive.
So easy to kill.
He wondered whether the girl--her name was lost to the Mocker--had considered, whether it was even for a moment, the dangers of sleeping with him. Whether she knew that Zacharius could take away her life within a second, without a guilty thought. Whether she knew that he was capable of such things, and not lose any sleep over it.
Perhaps that was part of the temptation--such thrills did exist, after all.
Pushing himself off the bed, he picked up his jeans off the floor and pulled them on, before walking over to the window. Dangerously black wings spread, he jumped out, without turning around to give the girl one, last glance. Consider yourself saved, he thought, dark eyes scanning the earth below. The last girl wasn't so lucky.
Zacharius scored the House of Night, ignoring the clumps of mindless teens bunched together, searching for that one girl, alone and clueless. Experienced eyes found one near the front of the gate, and he flexed his wings, allowing himself to drop steadily near her, almost silent in his landing.
The girl turned, blue eyes widening, as she dropped her books on the floor with a loud thud.
He walked towards her, confident and almost suave, his bare chest reflecting the moon with an alluring shine. She, in return, shrank back, but her feet remained planted on the ground; the books lay on the floor, forgotten.
"Are you alone?"
The words came out strong, and yet almost hushed, like a whisper. As if it was meant for her, and only her. The girl slowly shook her head, transfixed. He, in one fluid motion, took a step forward so that they were almost nose to nose--or to be more precise, nose to chest--and he placed one hand on her shoulder, cementing her in place.
"Would you like company, my love?"
The girl nodded, and the he smirked.
She'd just made a deal with the devil.
He leaned forward, so that his lips brushed her cheek, and he murmured, "I'll make it worth your while," all the while his hand snaked around her back, pushing her body towards his.
But then the girl began to squirm, panicked, and his hold tightened, an emotionless smirk gracing his lips.
"No, please, let me go--"
"But we're having so much fun."
"No--!"
Thud.
Zacharius lifted his head, eyes narrowed, as he heard a new set of feet touching the ground. His father? Or one of his brothers? Not letting go of the girl, he turned to see Nahuel, another Raven Mocker.
Expression unchanging, he continued to stand, wrapping his arms solidly around the girl like a dangerous embrace. "Nahuel," he murmured, black eyes trained on his brother, his voice tense, and unnerving.
His hatred of all life may have excluded his family--but the exclusion only went so far. NOTES: meh. shitshitshit. 612 words~

Angelo was staying in his father's house in the bedroom that was assigned to him. He didn't feel like leaving today, his duties feeling unimportant. He looked out the window that opened up wide enough for him to fly out of but with the wind blowing the branches of the tree in front of it he decided against flying out this way, though he was an immortal it wouldn't have been too bad if he decided to fly out this way. The drop, on the other hand, was scary.
It was embarrassing, to be afraid of heights and yet love the feeling of flight. He shook his head as he thought of it, cheeks flaring red. He kept that secret closely guarded, making sure to never let anybody know this. He walked back to his dresser and opened it up, grabbing a pair of black jeans and closing the dresser. He just left the shower before looking out the window, his wings were still dripping wet so he wasn't flying anywhere for a while. He pulled on the pants and then shook his wings out, letting the feathers dry out. He uncurled his wings and let them stretch, a loud groan leave his chest and throat.
he was tired, and didn't like that feeling. He needed to do something. So he did. He opened the window and breathed in the fresh air. He looked down to the ground and gulped, but then looked up and climbed out the window and onto the branches that were sturdy, climbing to a branch high off the ground (ignoring that fact) and looked out to the sky. He saw someone flying toward the school and he jumped off the branch and into the sky, flying high and fast toward the front entrance.
It was exhilarating, the feeling of flying. he loved this feeling. He laughed as he looped in the air, flying low over the school grounds, much to the shock and screams of a few terrified students. He landed by the tree that his father sprang from months ago, freeing everyone. He watched a young fledgling, her dog and her growing snow leopard quickly get up and run away from the tree, tripping on her way into the girls dorm. He frowned, not liking that he scared her, but he started walking to the front entrance, letting the breeze dry his now slightly damp wings.
Flying to the school took a lot more energy than he wanted to expend, his damp wings making flight very hard. He walked on the gravel path to the front, listening for anything out of the ordinary. He heard his brother Zacharius speak Nahuel and his head snapped up. He quickly walked to the noises and saw his brothers. He frowned at Zaharius and Nahuel, but the frown was usually on his face. "I was not aware of any meetings." Angelo said, back straight. He looked at Nahuel, and noted that he looked like he just came in from flying. Must have been flying a great distance if he got here so late.

Nahuel's chest rose and fell as he tried to catch his breath, he was on a mission for Kalona before he was trapped underground, and it had taken him a few months to get back to his family. He eyed Zacharius as he held the girl. He didn't like sex, so it angered him to see girls taken advantage of.
"Zacharius." He nodded toward his brother, he liked him, but he wasn't that close to him. He turned his head when he heard his other brother's voice, "Hey Angelo." He threw a quick smile at Angelo before turning to Zacharius, "So, Zacharius. . . Going to claim another victim again?" He crossed his arms over his chest, grimacing when he felt the sweat there. He needed a shower, he just flew across the ocean and through part of Canada and most of the United States. He was glad it was a foggy night, so his brothers wouldn't see his scars from... that night. He shuddered and winced when his wings gave it away. He eyed the girl warily, and scooted closer to Angelo, not wanting to be near her, "Brothers, how are you? Father treating everyone all right?" He hasn't seen them in years, so he has no clue how they will react to his questions, "What has happened? I was on a mission for Father before we were trapped." He scratched his head and pulled his wings closer to his body as he felt the sweat evaporate off his skin. He didn't know how they were trapped or what happened that caused the incident, so he was looking for answers.

"I was not aware of any meetings."
Another thud, another gruff, low voice alerted the Raven Mocker that one of his brothers had joined them. The girl whimpered, and a shot of annoyance sparked through him--and yet, his face remained composed, emotionless. "There isn't any," he murmured, not bothering to turn and look at Angelo.
Zacharius watched Nahuel carefully, taking note of the way he eyed his girl, the wariness and anger that danced in his dark eyes. Amused, he snaked a hand around the girl's waist, and tugged her harshly towards him, settling her off-balance, and presumably uncomfortable. He shot Angelo a smirk, the corner of his lips twisting up with malevolence, and he dug his fingers into the girl's flesh, resulting in a shill shriek.
"Zacharius. Hey Angelo." Nahuel smiled at their brother, before turning back with another wary look at the girl. "So, Zacharius. . . Going to claim another victim again?"
Not bothering to entertain his brothers with a laugh, he merely shoved the girl forward with an abrupt shove, and he nodded towards her, one brow arching, his lips curving once more. 'Why? You want it instead, brother?" He ignored the whimper from the girl, and instead added, "There's plenty more to have." He watched, amused, as the girl's eyes widened, one hand gripping hard onto Zacharius' wrist.
He danced with the temptation to hurt the girl, twist off her arm and break it into pieces. Instead, his eyes flickered onto the girl's so they locked--and for one, single moment, the Raven Mocker watched as fear, hate, and even excitement lingered in cerulean orbs, and he wondered what the girl saw in his.
The same hate, and fear?
Or perhaps she saw nothing but emptiness--blank, and unforgiving.
Nahuel moved closer to Angelo, shooting another look at the girl. Zacharius shifted his weight, watching it all with knowing eyes; was his brother scared? Did he fear the inferior? A brow arched in question, but he remained silent, not caring enough to ask. In one, fluid motion, he grabbed the girl's shoulder and shoved her back towards him, and there he kept his arm draped across her shoulders, keeping her prisoner. The girl, too rigid in fear to protest, gripped onto his wrist harder, she too, watching his brothers--only she watched with terror.
"Brothers, how are you? Father treating everyone all right?" Nahuel asked, "what has happened? I was on a mission for Father before we were trapped."
Ah.
He forgot.
Nahuel had managed to escape the other Raven Mocker's fate--he didn't have to stay trapped underground, with nothing but earth all around him. Zacharius' eyes narrowed, and ignoring his first questions, he said, "Kalona took over the House of Night--the sons that were here, with him, that suffered, helped." Angry as he was, his voice still remained the same: cold, emotionless, and as always, unforgivingly cruel. 'Tell me brother, what were you doing, whilst we were trapped under the earth?"
He stroked the girl's neck, wanting to feel the bu-bump, bu-bump of her pulse. Something to remind him that yes, she was alive, and of course, he could take it away with one flick of his fingers.
The Raven Mocker's eyes continued to stare at Nahuel, daring him to answer, to say why he was chosen to escape being trapped.
And it better be good.
