School Information
Because there has been some question from those that have not read the book, and here at Colliding Differences we're an AU site that doesn't require players to have read the series, I figured it was time to clarify some information about the House of Night itself, and the world that these students are living in.
Formers
At the House of Night, fledglings are measured by their Former. It is how they keep track of how many years that they have been at the house of night and what level that they are at in their journey to becoming fully fledged Vampyres. Formers go from Third Formers, which are those who have just entered the school, to Sixth Formers, which are those fledglings that are just about to make the change and are in their final year. Third Formers can be anywhere from 14 to 16, Fourth formers can be anywhere from 15 to 17, Fifth formers from 16 to 18 and Sixth from 17 to 19.
Name Changes
There is a policy that at the House of Night, you have been reborn into a different life. Because of this, when students first enter the house, they are permitted to change their name to anything they like and it will be an official, legal name change. So chose wisely! This allows them to distance themselves from their human selves, particularly if they had a hard time with family members after being marked.
