This is....random and...odd....and weird....and pretty sure I'm not gonna continue this.
I BLAME CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!!
Slipping out of the house at midnight was easy, navigating the road down to the town was a bit tricky, and then FINDING the shop was just plain hard. Forgetting a candle to light at least SOME of her way, the governor’s daughter just wrapped her father’s coat around her tighter, keeping the cool air from the sea out of her bones just a bit longer. She tripped over a forgotten rum bottle, nearly falling into a building before she caught herself. The young woman sighed and looked up at the building’s sign. Squinting she saw an anvil and she smiled.
Blacksmith.
Astraea quickly walked around to the back of the shop, opening a window that the owner kept unlocked. She climbed inside and shut the window behind her, a soft thud echoing through the room. She turned around and looked around the room before finding the cot in the corner. She smiled and walked over, her footfall silenced by her now ruined slippers. She knelt by the cot and ran her hand through her love’s hair, smiling more when his mouth grew into a smile. His eyes slowly opened, his hand taking her’s from his hair. “Raea it’s late.”
“I had to see you.” She always said this, whenever she came in the middle of the night. At first Daniel was shocked and tried to take her home, but every time she did this she always went home at the same time. Ten minutes before 5. The tired blacksmith sat up on his cot and his love quickly sat next to him, her head resting on his shoulder.
“You know this isn’t very ladylike.”
“Nobody can see me, I had to see you.” Daniel wrapped his arm around Astraea’s waist and pulled her close. He kissed her head and she sighed. “Father said that a man asked for my hand today.”
“Oh?” Daniel felt his eyebrow raise, questioning. “Might I ask who it was?” He knew which man asked for his love’s hand. That disgusting Navy twit, Frederic, his eyes always preyed on his Raea Love, hungrily looking over her body. This girl was not his to touch.
“Frederic Ericson, Captain of the Singing Phoenix.” Raea sighed and wrapped her arms around Daniel. “I don’t want to marry him.”
“You make it sound like it’s a done deal. I’m sure others have asked for your hand.” Daniel wrapped his arms around Raea, pulling her onto his lap.
“Nobody worthy of Father’s approval, and not the one I want.”She buried her face into his chest. Daniel sighed and held her close, resting his cheek on her head. He wanted her hand, he wanted her to be his, to just take her in his arms and kiss her. He wanted to be her husband.
But he couldn’t be.
“We’ve talked about this.”
“It’s not fair!!” Raea cried, tears falling down her cheeks.
“Raea Love, I can’t give you everything your father expects your husband to give you. He doesn’t want his daughter marrying a blacksmith…I’m taking you home now. It’s late.” Daniel stood up; he lit a lantern and pulled his coat on. Raea just sat on the bed, staring at the floor. He heard something softly hit the floor and closed his eyes as he heard another tear fall to the floor. He walked over to his love and helped her up. “Time to go home Miss Greene.” Raea pulled away from him and blew the lamp out.
“I’ll go home by myself tonight. Goodnight Daniel.” She exited through the front door after unlocking it. Daniel sighed; he placed the lantern back on its hook and sat down on his bed. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed again.
Raea walked down to the beach instead of going straight home. She sat down on the sand and looked out into the water, watching the waves crash along the shore. Her hand traced letters in the sand, watching the letters form. She cursed silently and hit the sand away, tears falling down her cheeks. Her face fell into her hands and she sobbed.
A couple yards away, two girls, one tall with sandy brown hair, the other much shorter with long black hair, were watching the girl. They knew who she was, where she was from, and even who her father was. She was their target. The taller girl quickly ran behind the crying girl, a few feet behind her, the shorter one walked in front of her and tapped the crying girl on the shoulder.
“What?” Raea looked up and gasped. She was staring into silver eyes, like that of a blade. She started to scream but someone tackled her from behind, hitting her over the head with an old rum bottle.
“Got her!”
Probably can't read some of it, or maybe my screen's brightness is turned down too low, like I said probably not gonna continue it, anybody can continue it themselves, I jut needed to get this out of my system.
