☾Sixth Former ☽ Demos wasn't even there for a week and he already saw three things. One, red fledglings and vampyres, WHO KNEW THOSE EXISTED!!, black fledglings and vampyres, some without the blue, or red, crescent mark on their forehead, HOW DID THAT WORK!?!, and half human half bird things. NOW THOSE WERE GROSS!! Artisodemos may have grown up in a town where murders happened at least every month but he didn't know that this small town of Tulsa, Oklahoma would be...this twisted and messed up.
Well, even in Chicago there was always one thing that made Artisodemos happy, even more than playing or his girlfriend, may she rest in peace. That was the Goddess's Temple, the place of worship where Fledglings would go to pray and hold their rituals. Demos was heading there now, his guitar in his hand. He was glad it was the weekend, but wasn't so glad that Valentine's Day was drawing near. His grip on Evangeline tightened. Evangeline, his guitar's name. She was a white acoustic guitar that darkened to a blue color around the sides. He received the guitar as a gift from his family when he found out his affinity.
Demos liked his affinity, it helped with the ladies, but he wasn't a true ladies man, noooo. He liked guys too, but not as much as women. Would he break up with a guy to go out with a woman? No, but if given a choice if unattached he would choose the woman. Cruel? Maybe, but he had a right to be a bit cruel when choosing his love now, since his first love rejected the Change.
Which was probably why he was walking to Nyx's Temple, since Valentine's Day was close, the day for lovers, he wanted comfort. So, he was going to light a purple Spirit candle in honor of his beloved and pray to the Goddess for her guidance and love. He heard that the Temple was rarely used now, and he wondered if it was true.
He pushed open the door of the temple and nearly coughed. There was so much dust and grime, and yet he could still make out the few footprints that were on the floor. Huh, so fledglings did come to worship. But it looked like they only came alone, as there weren't many and the room looked like it was beautiful, maybe even more beautiful than the one in Chicago. He looked to the back of the room and saw a dust covered statue of Nyx, which made Astrodemos frown. Nyx shouldn't be covered in dust.
He opened his backpack and found the purple Spirit candle he smuggled out of the supply closet and the matchbook he stole from his dorm room's kitchen, which were handy whenever a stove wouldn't light. Demos light the spirit candle and it sprung to life, the light dancing off any object it could touch. Demos smiled and inhaled deeply, letting the sweet smell of the candle and the smoke fill his lungs.
He walked to the statue of Nyx and set the candle at her feet, he then fell to his knee and bowed his head, placing a fist over his heart. He didn't know how long he stayed like that but he slowly lifted his head up and stared at the flame of the candle, and saw the wax slowly fall down the side. He looked up to Nyx's face and sighed. "Dear Nyx, my goddess, help me see the light that has left this House of Night, help me see what I should do at this House, help the dear fledglings here, and help me and my depressed soul as we go through our first Valentine's Day alone...Blessed Be...Goddess.."
With that Demos stood up and let the candle burn, he sat down next to the candle and pulled Evangeline onto his lap, pulling the guitar strap around him. He strummed his fingers over the strings and smiled at the familiar sound. He started playing, the sweet music filling the once silent room. The music was sweet and melodic, sounding perfect, the melody felt uplifting and right after a prayer to the Goddess. Artisodemos didn't know how to describe it but...It just felt right. Which was why he loved his affinity, he didn't have to be able to describe it, he just had to feel that it was right. Describing can come later, right now he just wanted to play.

Alyss wandered the grounds of the House of Night, it was quite different than the one in Seattle, it wasn't ruled by Nyx apparently, which was a shock to Alyss, her House had obeyed Nyx, but here it was different, here they followed a winged man - whom some called a 'fallen angel' - by the name of Kalona, now, if Alyss had liked Nyx, she might have been rebellious to the idea of following a new deity, but, seeing as she never really found any reason to believe in the goddess, Alyss disregarded it, Kalona was here, in person, his castle only behind the school grounds. Looking over her shoulder, she saw the black castle, it was said to match his wings, which was supposed to be as black as night, but Alyss had never seen him, so she couldn't say.
Running her thin fingers through her long black hair, Alyss, moved her hand down to play with one of her necklaces, a gold Czech necklace, with purple glass in the middle, it was a family heirloom from the 1930's and very important, she had sworn to never take it off, but as she was given this necklace, her sister was given another necklace, one that Alyss personally loved. Moving her hand up her neck she felt her smaller necklace, an Alice in Wonderland bronze necklace which had been a gift from her sister the day she got marked, she smiled at the memory and looked down at her hand, where she was wearing a red jeweled heart ring and another Wonderland themed accessory, except this time a bracelet, Alyss had always chosen her accessory's to match the day and her favorite story, and today was no exception. Wandering past one of the windows, Alyss deiced to look at herself in a whole, she was wearing a slightly see-through white tank, in which her black bra and stomach could be faintly seen, not that she minded, she didn't care, other then her shirt her outfit was particularly normal, just dark skinny jeans and black boots, her hair down and only slightly covering her mark.
Moving towards the temple of Nyx, Alyss wondered if anyone visited it, or if it was abandoned, and if it was, that was a pity, the temples tended to be quite pretty, especially the ceremony that was, of course, if the Dark Daughters were good. Of course that thought led Alyss to wonder, if they had ceremonies for this Kalona character. and if they saw him much, she would really like to know if he was all he was told to be, or less, maybe even more? Alyss was unsure, but she was curious.
Walking inside the temple, there was three things that stuck out to Alyss, one was the scent of the Spirit candle burning, the other was of the fact a boy was here, but the last and probably most beautiful thing was the music. It was absolutely beautiful in a way that Alyss couldn't describe, as she moved closer, her footsteps barely even heard, the questions of why there was someone praying to Nyx at this school, and why this boy was even here was out of her mind, all that stuck was the beautiful song.
Licking her lips, Alyss began to hum along with the tune, alerting the boy to her, if he didn't already realize his being there, moving closer she bit her lip and opened her mouth to speak, in her quiet falsetto voice. "That was beautiful." She breathed, her eyes twinkled as she smiled and moved into the candle light.

☾Sixth Former ☽ Demos didn't really notice the fledgling walk into the room, he just kept playing, his fingers strumming the strings easily. He loved playing his guitar, it made him feel happier. He looked up from the strings and saw that the fledgling that entered was a girl, and she was quite lovely. She hummed along to his song and he smiled, nice harmonies and it sounded nice with her tune. She commented on the song and he stopped playing, smiling, bringing the knee that didn't have the guitar on it up onto the statue he was sitting on. Wasn't disrespectful, just a bit more comfortable. "Thank you, and might I add that the humming was a nice touch, might have to add that on the sheet music." And he wasn't lying. It did sound lovely.
He put his guitar off to the side of his body and he pushed the candle away from Evangeline; didn't want her catching on fire, now did he? He smiled up at the girl and saw that she had long dark brown hair and pretty brown eyes. He thought he saw gold flecks in them in the candlelight, but maybe that was just the light playing tricks. "What's your name Little Lady?" Little Lady was just a name he called girls when he didn't know their name, sometimes it stuck as a nickname, other times it just was until he found out her name. Artisodemos fixed his jacket and smiled a bit at the sixth former patch. He was so close to becoming a vampyre, yet still just as close to rejecting the Change...well, maybe he'd come back as a red fledgling here.
Maybe his girlfriend was one.
He realized he was spacing and shook his head a bit. Well that was rude. He smiled sheepishly and laughed, kind of embarrassed. "I am sorry I spaced out for a minute. I'm rather new here, just moved here from Chicago." His accent probably gave it away too. Chicago citizens pronounced a few words differently. For example, street, while most pronounce the s and the t as just that, an st, Demos and other Chicagoans, pronounced it as 'shtreet', throwing an h in between the two letters. Chicago was also 'Shi-caw-go', not 'Chi-caaaw-go'.
Alright enough mental rambling about the pronunciation of words let's get to know this girl. "What former are you? Ah, better question to ask. Demos was a sixth former, his patch should be on his jacket somewhere, probably on his left breast pocket or down at the bottom of the jacket near the pocket for his hand, either way it was on his jacket. The Fates and their scissors.
Cruel thing, fate. Ah well, maybe things will get better here. He picked up his guitar again and put it back in his lap, strumming the strings a bit. "Any requests ma'am?" He knew a fair bit of music, so he hoped he could play whatever she requested. He also wanted to sing a bit. "If no requests I'll sing something myself then." Demos sang a bit, but it was more like talking than serious singing. He had a rather large range, baritone to tenor. Maybe tenor. He didn't really know, he played music more than singing it.
He heard a soft meow behind him and smiled, his pretty feline Delilah followed him. He scratched behind his pretty kitty's ear and she purred loudly. "Hey Delilah, you follow me here?" The cat meowed in answer and hopped up to his shoulder, making him hunch forward a bit. "Lilah, it was cool when you were a kitten, now that you're a grown cat this just hurts." He picked the cat up off his shoulder and set her down by his feet, Delilah meowing in annoyance, but she rubbed her face on his pants legs anyway. "Sorry bout that." He said to the girl still standing in front of him.
Maybe Tulsa wouldn't be so bad. ~~**~~**~~**~~**

A pout rose to her lips when he stopped playing, but then was quickly replaced with one of her charming smiles when he spoke, his voice was kind and had a slight Chicago accent, which Alyss found cute, since people from Chicago had the oddest way of speaking, and they knew it. "I'm glad you think so, and I wouldn't mind if you did." Alyss assumed he was just being nice and actually didn't mean he would put her soft humming on the sheet music for the beautiful song, or else then Alyss would've been embarrassed, not in a bad way of course, more of that flattered way.
As he ensured that his guitar didn't catch on fire, Alyss tried her luck and moved closer to the boy, sitting on the edge of one of her statues, she wondered if it was disrespectful for her to do so, but of course, she wondered if she really cared, she had never had to actually think about her own feelings before, even at her own school, she had kept her head down and followed the chain of command, she didn't know how to think for herself, she was never given the chance to.
"Little Lady? That's a new one, usually I get names based off the color white or Alice In Wonderland" Though when she thought about it, she didn't know really, he barely knew her and didn't know that she was particular to the color white, let alone that she was obsessed with Alice In Wonderland. "I guess since you don't know me I assume you wouldn't know.... My name is Alyss, and you name is?"
She saw him space and waited patiently for him to speak, she wasn't one to speak first, maybe if the person didn't notice her and she wanted to be noticed she'd make some sort of sound, but in conversations she was useless, only speaking when spoken to, or driven to. "Oh, it's fine, spacing out is a regular occurrence for anyone with a lot on their mind, and really? I'm new as well, from Seattle." Alyss smiled and licked her lips, she was so blah, unsure of anything else or to even branch off topic, she needed to get out of that shell, but no, she was too dependent on an older twin that wasn't here.
Her eyes drifted to the six former crest on jacket, and she leaned forward, fingers brushing the stitching, she had never seen a six former badges, most of the formers at her old House had put their badges somewhere inconspicuous, and no one really saw them, she had grown used to that style so her badge was on the inside of her vest, somewhere near the bottom of it as well. "I'm a fifth former." Alyss moved her fingers away from his badge and brought her hand down to her own, before bringing it into the sight-line of the boy's eyes.
"Oh? Sing whatever your comfortable with." Alyss smiled, and braided the ends of her hair as she waited for him to play, she wanted to hear him sing, she had heard him play and if his singing was anything like that she would love it.
She couldn't contain the laugh that spilled from her lips as a cat jumped onto the boy's shoulder and caused him to be in slight pain as it would seem, she snickered as he quickly scolded the cat before it jumped into his lap and nuzzled him. "No, it's fine, my kitten will do that too." Speaking of Dinah where was that kitten? Alyss looked around before seeing the small thing staring at the flame, sighing, Alyss got up and grabbed her baby before moving back to the boy, he small white kitten in her lap, waiting for him to preform.

☾Sixth Former ☽ Artisodemos smiled at the fledgling and nodded. He would most definatly put her humming into his song, maybe he'd take the tune she hummed and turn it into the lyrics to sing along to with the guitar, or maybe he'd turn it into a duet, he would love to sing it with her. "Consider it done." He said, smiling.
She moved closer to him and he smiled. She sat on the statue and saw her face better in the light. She was beautiful, the candlelight casting lovely lights and shadows on her face. She said most of the nicknames she got were about Alice in Wonderland and the color white. He could see that now, but he still thought Little Lady fit her. "Merry Meet Alyss, I am Artisodemos, but my friends call me Demos."
His name was complicated. Teachers when they first saw it back in Chicago would pronounce it wrong. Chicago...He missed his family and his friends. Mostly Jenni, but she was gone now. He also missed his former mentor, Cecelia. She was nice and she was the one that helped him make the decision to move to Tulsa. After he came back from his spaced out mentality he heard that she was from Seattle. "Seattle Washington? Do you miss the rain?" He was tempted to ask if she saw any sparkling vampires by that crap author of the Twilight Saga. Honestly he didn't understand why so many human children were in love with that series, it was poorly written and gave a bad name to pianists everywhere. Stupid Edward.
Her eyes fell on his sixth former patch and her fingers brushed the gold and silver stitching. She acted like she never saw the sixth former badge. She said she was a fifth former and her hands moved down to her vest. He looked down and saw that her patch was on the inside of her jacket. He rose an eyebrow and looked up at her. "Why do you hide your patch?"
She said to sing whatever he wanted and Demos smiled. Alright, what to choose, there were a lot of songs he had in the back of his mind, but his cat tackled him before he could do anything. He loved his kitten he truly did, but sometimes he just hated it when his fully grown Maine Coon tackled him like she was still a kitten. Alyss said her kitten tackled her too but when Demos saw her grab the kitten by the candle he chuckled a bit. "Your cat's small enough to do that, mine is about...20 pounds heavier." Delilah meowed to the kitten and tried to walk over to her but she decided Demos was much more comfy and stayed put. "Alright, since you said I could play whatever, I will."
He started playing the guitar, and he realized this song would sound a lot better on the piano, but the guitar would have to do.
"You’d think that people would have had enough of silly love longs But I look around me and I see it isn’t so Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs And what’s wrong with that ?"
Silly Love Songs by Paul McCartney. Demos just decided to play this song, he liked it and he hoped that Alyss would too. Yes it was a love song but since it was so close to Valentine's day he decided to play it.
"I’d like to know ’cause here I go again. I love you I love you I love you I loveyou. I can’t explain the feeling’s plain to me say can’t you see What’s wrong with that"
