Life epically sucked some days. Yes, this was Pride sitting here thinking that, he could have a pessimistic side too. And he did, just not one that he really shared all that often. Especially not around his Raea. Especially not then. She needed him to be strong, to be her rock. And that was what he did his best to be, to be always strong and there for her. To be the one to lift her up when she fell. She didn’t need to see that sometimes he just really wanted to step away and punch something. Like now. Right now, the option to punch something seemed really tempting to the usually very calm boy. There was a few things contributing to this factor. The first? The first was about his Raea. Her friend Ki, who he didn’t know very well sadly, he’d make a point to change that later on for Raea’s sake if the girl woke up. But either way, he knew it was upsetting her, but what could he really say? There was nothing he could do to make this right. He couldn’t magically wake her up to help Raea be happy again, he could just do his best to make her happy and keep her that way.
The second was more…home related things. His younger half sister had gone MIA if his recent letter from his father, who was more like his friend then his father most days, had any truth to it. Truthfully, this wasn’t all that surprising. She went missing often. It was hard for Ree to handle things, so when things got to hectic she’d simply…disappear. No one worried too much because she would show up a day or two later, totally fine and unharmed…plus a lot calmer. That was the bonus question of the day. She was calmer. The problem? She had been gone a week and no one had heard from her. Needless to say everyone was going crazy, and Pride wasn’t close enough distance wise to go home and help. He couldn’t be away from this place for that long. He felt utterly helpless when it came to this, just relying on word of mouth.
So it was safe to say that he felt very helpless lately. There were two things going on in his life that he could do nothing about…and very much so whated to do something about. But what could he do? Nothing. That was the point of all this, he couldn’t do anything to help his family or his love. Useless, that was how he was feeling right then. It wasn’t a happy feeling. He ran his fingers through his, currently, light brown hair. He pushed the bangs out of his deep blue eyes, shaking his head in frustration. It would do him no good to sit in his room and mope about these things, would it? No…he had to go out and do…something. Anything. Even if it was just to run. Which was what he would do…he would run.
So he pulled out his sneakers, tugged them on, and started lacing them up. Gave his fingers something to do at least, even if it didn’t give his mind something to do. It was all muscle memory when it came to stupid little things like tying your shoes. Nothing to think about there. He stood and patted the side of his leg. Immediately his drowsy husky picked up her head and the full tail that had been compared to a squirrel’s tail before, thumped against the bed just once, as if asking what they were up to. He smiled at her little head tilt that went along with the thump, further enforcing the fact that she was asking him. Pride loved his dog, she always seemed more human then animal, as if she got exactly what he was saying, what he was thinking. She was as much his sister as she was his companion. He wouldn’t change it for anything.
He smiles at the pup half heartedly and she leaped off the bed, immediately at his side. That was when he had left the dorm…and simply took off running. It was early, and a weekend. So there was really no one to avoid which was good. He hated having to weave around other’s like it was an obstacle course. It was easier to simply run. It wasn’t until he had been running for a good hour and was beyond exhausted that he felt the tension rising from him, helping him to relax and calm down. Helping him to see the situation better and deal with it better. Running always helped Pride, it helped to clear his mind. It helped him relax.
It helped Juno too, the Husky needed to stay in shape, and this was the best way.
He was breathing heavily, leaning back against a tree on the edge of the forest that totally wasn’t there before Kalona showed up. It didn’t matter, he was grateful for something to lean up against right now. He was trying to get his breath back and wasn’t paying much attention, so he didn’t notice Juno walk up to someone else nearby. He didn’t see her tentative wag of a tail and her head tilt to the side, as if to ask the other male whether or not he was okay.
Comments: Sorry. It fails.
