Cloud missed Lightning. He wanted to talk to her. He had absolutely no idea where she might be, so he'd decided that he'd just go to her dorm and wait for her. She had to go there at some point, right?
He sat down on her bed, and tapped his foot impatiently, drumming a little rhythm on his lap. He wondered how long she would take. Maybe she was out having fun with her friends. Maybe he shouldn't have bothered going there in the first place. Would she be mad when she saw him there? Surely not.
He wondered who Lightning shared a room with. He saw that there was another bed, and a small collection of stuff. The room definitely looked lived in. There was a whole bunch of make up around the room.
Cloud picked up some eye liner. He hadn't put any on today, and he felt sort of weird. She wouldn't care if he used hers. He stepped into the bathroom so that he could look in the mirror as he applied it.
He heard somebody opening the door. Hopefully it was Lightning, and not her room mate. He put the eyeliner down on the sink, and checked his eyes in the mirror. He looked pretty normal now.
Cloud walked out of the bathroom, and into the main bedroom. Sure enough, there was Lightning.
"Boo," he whispered, smiling at Light. WORDS: 290 TAGGED: Lightning MUSE: Okay NOTES: Pehe OUTFIT: Click!

For the second time in her life, Lightning attended class. For the first time in her life, she left early, bored and annoyed. Really. Did she have to know that female vampyres in the past used to chop of their tits so that they could fire arrows with more ease? No. It sort of made her feel sick, actually. Lightning rolled her eyes as she walked down the hallways, her hands bare. She hadn't bothered to bring anything with her. Good thing, too, as she had just ditched the class in 5 minutes after it had started. The only lesson she needed to go to was combat class, and even she had hadn't attended that yet. Sure, she was meaning to. But time flew by. How was she to blame?
The bangles that hanged loosely on her thin wrist banged together, and she fingered them, absentmindedly, feeling the smooth edge of the colorful metal. Her cropped leather jacket was open, the sides hanging loosely underneath her arms, revealing more of her top. She was dressing more casually, these days. She supposed it was because she didn't care, any more.
Her soft, leather boots made crunching sounds, as they hit the gravel that covered the grounds of the House of Night. She liked these shoes. They were one of her favourites. The reached nearly up to her knees, and she really liked the urban feel that they gave off. It was nice. And a lot of things in her life weren't, so it was about time that some good things entered her life.
She reached the building that was her dorm, and she walked into the common area, hoping to find someone to talk to. Well, just her luck. No one. Well, not exactly no one. There were a few preps, bitching. So, yeah. No one.
She walked calmly to the kitchen, aware that a few of them had turned to stare at her. Feeling anxious, she quickly walked up to the counter, and grabbed two apples the lay on top of the bowl of fruit. With one apple in each hand, she began to walk to her dorm room, trying not to make eye contact with the preps. Preps, that were now all looking at her. Great. She could hear their hushed whispers, a giggle here and there, and she didn't have to have super hearing to know that they were talking about her.
Oh well.
She didn't care. Much.
Biting into her forbidden fruit, she crunched into the apple, and reached down to open her dorm door, only to find that it was already open. It was probably her room mate. She stepped in, and heard footsteps in the bathroom, which she ignored. Lightning and her room mate didn't really talk. She turned around, about to lie down, when she heard footsteps come her way.
"Boo."
It was only a whisper. Nothing to freak out about. But still, Lightning jumped, dropping both apples onto the floor and she turned around, as fast as she could. Oh. It was Cloud. Only Cloud, nothing to be scared of. A smile made its way onto her frozen features and she eventually grinned, before hugging her twin.
"Hey, Cloud. What you doing in my dorm room?" The question could have been harsh. It could have been interpreted as 'get the fuck out'. But Cloud would know that she didn't mean anything like that.
After all, Cloud was the only person that truly understood her. Words: 685 Muse: >_> deadddd. Notes: Nyaha. Sorry, totally shittt.

Cloud chuckled quietly as Lightning jumped, dropping her apple.
"Hey, Cloud. What you doing in my dorm room?"
"I just wanted to talk. I really miss you, Light," he said, continuing in a soft voice, almost a whisper. He tended not to talk very loudly recently. There was no reason for him to be loud. Everyone could hear him, anyway.
"Things are really shit here, Light. I have no friends. You have no friends.. That I know of," he added the last part pretty hastily, just in case he'd offended her, although he doubted Light would get offended. "It's getting really boring. I don't like it. Can't we run away? Just me and you. We could live like we did before. That was fine, wasn't it? I mean, we were surviving just great. And we didn't get all of these idiots on our backs all the time." Cloud's words were sort of merging together by the end, he was talking so quickly.
"And I sort of miss our old House of Night. Well, you know. I miss her. She hates me, yeah. But I still love her. I want somebody to love, even if they don't feel the same. Don't you? And at least there, people knew who we were. But we can't go back there. So we could just sort of.. lurk around during the day and live some place else at night."
Cloud realized that he was being really selfish. He couldn't ask Lightning to do something like this. It wasn't fair. Maybe she did have friends. Maybe she even had a boyfriend. In fact, she probably wasn't even a virgin any more. She was more mature than he would, and she could handle things much better. He decided to move away from the topic.
"Do you have a boyfriend? Lightning, I want you to tell me everything, because I don't know you any more.." He looked down, fiddling with his fingers, and chewing the side of his cheek.

A frown emerged onto her face, when she realised that Cloud was laughing at her. She bent down, picked up both apples, and threw the half eaten one in the bin, and the other onto her bed to wash and eat later. Sighing, she pretended to glare at her brother. "Cloud. That wasn't funny. You owe me an apple." She smiled, and walked over towards him, and gave him a slight hug. A little awkward hug. But that couldn't be helped. They were both awkward people.
It was then that she asked her question, and she raised a brow questioningly at his reply.
"I just wanted to talk. I really miss you, Light. Things are really shit here, Light. I have no friends. You have no friends.. That I know of."
She sighed, and went to go sit on her bed, picking up the discarded apple and rolling it around her hands. From this distance, it was hard to hear her brothers soft whispers, but she managed. Yes, she had no friends. But she was going to change that, soon. Hopefully. She looked up, and stared at Cloud. She had hoped, that at least one of them would manage to have a busy social life. "I get what you're saying, Cloud, bu-" She started talking, only to be cut off, as her brother started speaking again.
"It's getting really boring. I don't like it. Can't we run away? Just me and you. We could live like we did before. That was fine, wasn't it? I mean, we were surviving just great. And we didn't get all of these idiots on our backs all the time."
Lightning began to fidget, a little uncomfortable. Yes, it would be great to go back. To just be her and him. Lightning and Cloud. But where would that leave them? And without vampyres, they would surely reject the change, the resulting consequence being death. She wanted it so much.. Yet she hated the thought just as badly. Because, she wanted friends. She wanted to feel like she belonged somewhere. She didn't have a place that she could call her home. She wanted to change that.
Biting her lip, she beckoned for her brother to join where she sat, and she gently patted the duvet next to her. "Cloud, you know i would love to. To just go back, to where it was just me and you. But think about this logically. Without vampyres around, we die. We have to stay here. We don't have a choice.." Her voice faded a little at the end. She was making it sound like they were in some sort of imprisonment, or something. Not good, for when you were trying to persuade someone to not to run away. "Why don’t we just stay here, just for a few more weeks? See how things turn out?” Her voice had turned hopeful, and she coughed, trying to clear her throat.
Oh. That was it. Cloud just wanted somebody to love. She envied that part of him. He had the ability to fall in love. She didn't. She had lived for seventeen years, and never loved someone, with the exception of Cloud. And her cat. But that didn't count. "...Cloud. For me, there's nothing to miss. I was a nobody back then. Still am. Going back wouldn't change anything.." Her voice had gone quieter, mimicking her brother's soft whispers. She felt awful. So, completely selfish. She should just run away with Cloud. She was only thinking about herself. And if you thought about it, that was what she always did. Only thought about herself. She was such a shit twin.
"Do you have a boyfriend?” The sudden question surprised her, and she looked up, staring at him with a quizzical expression. ”Lightning, I want you to tell me everything, because I don't know you any more.."
She sighed, and reached out to take hold of his hand and gently squeeze it. It was sort of true. They didn’t hang out as much, not any more. That was something that would have to change. "Um.. No. No, I don’t…have a…boyfriend.” For some reason, she felt weirdly embarrassed, talking about her non-existent love life to her brother. Lightning bit her lip, and looked down. "I mean, y’know. This is me we’re talking about.” She let out a small laugh, before continuing to talk. "Cloud, I know we’ve sort of drifted apart. So let’s change that, okay? I miss not talking to you.” She smiled, and gave his hand another squeeze. Twins were supposed to be close.
So they would be too. Words: 922 Muse: >_> Ahaa. No. Notes: Tsk. I apologize, for this utter failure.

"Cloud. That wasn't funny. You owe me an apple."
Cloud chuckled. She could think about trivial things like apples, when there was so much more wrong with the world. So much more. He wished that he could be more like her, and maybe see the bright side of life for once, much as he could enjoy falling into depression. "It was funny. I promise that next time I see an apple, I will bring it straight to you, Your Highness." His tone was light and joking, but he didn't feel that way. A joke was never a bad thing, unless used at the wrong time.
"Cloud, you know i would love to. To just go back, to where it was just me and you. But think about this logically. Without vampyres around, we die. We have to stay here. We don't have a choice.."
He repeated in his mind the part about vampyres, and the fact that without them, they would die. Was that really a bad thing? It was quick and easy suicide. All he had to do was walk out the gates for a few hours, and he was dead, as easy as that. No poisons to drink, no throats to slit. Cough up a bit of blood and it's all over. But he couldn't do that to Lightning. She didn't deserve death. Not now, not ever. And when she does reach the gates of heaven, Cloud would do everything in his power to make it painless, and peaceful. He presumed that there were much more glamorous ways to die than to cough your veins dry. He began to think of alternative ways for them to escape. Ones that would allow them to leave the House of Night, but not the world.
"Well, sure. But we're not far off becoming vampyres. Okay, there's like a year to go. But.. I'm sure that we could find a vampyre to come with us. Some fledgling that's only just made the change. Perfect, right? There are ways to do it, Lightning." He shook his head, and gave up. Maybe he was wasting his breath, as usual. Nothing would come of it. He'd talk about doing something, but in the end, it would all just be empty words. Like it always was. God he never realized how afraid to live he was.
"Why don’t we just stay here, just for a few more weeks? See how things turn out?”
He nodded slowly, and decided to drop the subject. No point in pressing it.
"...Cloud. For me, there's nothing to miss. I was a nobody back then. Still am. Going back wouldn't change anything.."
"You weren't a nobody. Sure, nobody knew you. They didn't know me, either. Except for the jerks that constantly tried to make my life a misery. You must miss.. something. Anyway, we're not going back, are we? It'll never happen. I suppose we're going to have to stay in this hell hole?" And he'd have to continue to spend his days hoping for something more. Hoping to get back his past, and change it somehow. That was Cloud, always wishing up the impossible, and never thinking about the realistic future. A part of him always knew that it would never happen. Because, behind the optimism he often showed, he was just a pessimist, trying to be somebody else.
"Um.. No. No, I don’t…have a…boyfriend. I mean, y’know. This is me we’re talking about.”
Cloud wasn't surprised. She was just like him. Neither of them ever really had friends. Cloud tried to avoid conversation as frequently as possible, and Lightning was just as shy as him. It just happened that Cloud tried his best to be kind, much as that failed. He wasn't sure if Lightning did that.
Cloud, I know we’ve sort of drifted apart. So let’s change that, okay? I miss not talking to you.”
"Okay. Well, we can try. I miss talking to you, too. There was a time when I told you everything. You were the only person who knew anything about me. And now, you know nothing. I'm still the same, boring Cloud. But still.. Catch up sessions, and just.. talking to you. I wanna do it more often." Cloud smiled, and continued to look down at his fingers as he twiddled them.
"Oh, by the way, I borrowed your eye liner." And what kind of brother said that to his twin sister? WORDS: 863 TAGGED: Lightning MUSE: Good NOTES: Nyaah, done! OUTFIT: Click!
