Large white, blank eyes shot open. These eyes saw nothing, knew nothing, were nothing. He sat up, completely straight, almost robotic. Another charge of electricity went down one of the many wires hooked up to the boy, though it had no damaging effect. There was no knowledge in his face or completely white eyes, deprived of any form of irises or pupils. Everything about the handsome boy was completely white. His skin, hair, eyes, even the operation robe he was clothed in. Another charge of electricity shot through all wires and into the boy, stiffening him, bolting him upright, but strangely enough, not electrifying him. He sat there, completely still as the wires that were plugged into his head and the rest of his body sent a constant charge of electricity through them from the machines they were attached to. In a bright blue color, binary code could be seen in his eyes, scrolling, as if he were a computer and a new software was being downloaded into him. Sounds started to fall from his lips, but they were no intelligible words. Simply… notes. Random notes that came out in no particular form or tune. Then… physical movement.
His toes twitched.
His feet twitched.
Then his legs twitched.
He moved around where he sat.
The sound of gears starting to churn came from his center.
His shoulders twitched.
His arms.
His fingers.
His head shook.
His lips started moving to better accomidate the notes falling from them.
And, at last. He blinked. Once,
Twice,
Three times.
On the third time, his eyes were no longer scrolling binary code in a bright blue font, but he now had irises the color of the font of the code formerly in his eyes. It seemed as if then and there, he breathed in life itself. Turning from an inatomate object to something real, something alive, something with a soul.
He would never be able to call himself human however, the scientists would never allow it, like they didn’t allow any of the others.
They were, after all, things they created, things for them to use and do with as they wished.
They weren’t allowed to be real.
A girl watched the boy through a one-way mirror. Though she was much tinier then most, simply in the way she stood, the way she held herself, the critical glare in her analyzing eyes, it was clear she wasn’t one to be messed with.
Of course, that never stopped the scientists.
Arms crossed over her chest, she shifted her critical glare upwards, to the man standing on her right. Even in those high pigtails, her long black hair with its red streaks swayed about with her movement, the ends flicking about her knees as she stood tall. Her bangs slid away from the eye closer to the man, revealing it to be a silver color.
Like shiny metal.
Her glossy blood red lips parted and she took in a small sigh before starting to speak in her soft, high-toned voice, her voice something of complete parallel from what one would expect by judge of her rather dark and violent appearance. “Another new one? Really, why are so many of us necessary?” she questioned in a somewhat sarcastic tone, adding a roll of those silver orbs for further effect.
The tall, well built man in the lab coat simply laughed at the comment, earning himself a glare from the small girl as she awaited an answer. “It’s no concern of yours, Project: Shift. You will be informed when and if the information becomes vital for yourself to be aware of.” The doctor explained in an easy, flowing tone, as if he had said it a thousand times before. The girl rolled her eyes.
Same answer as always.
The doctor continued to speak as he turned away from the glass where it could be seen the newest one, the blue eyed, pale boy, had just gained pupils in his eyes and was starting to turn his head about, examining his situation. The girl, Project: Shift, shifted her cat-like black pupils from the boy in the room behind the glass to the scientist and back again. After a moment, the girl decided to focus on the scientist. The new boy would be fine.
The cameras would keep an eye on him, after all.
The tiny girl turned around with a simple twist of her heel. Her knee length silk black locks flaring out around her with the pleated black leather skirt she wore. Her platform boots clicking against the floor with the movement of her turn. The girl watched the doctor move about the small lab they stood in, gathering things, putting other things in their proper place, like it should always be perfectly, inconsolably clean. So organized, so put together…
She preferred the clutter.
“If plans are to go as they should, I’ll be able to tell you soon, alright? But right now there are only a few of you that are progressing on schedule or ahead of it. If things don’t pick up soon with the others, we all may run into a few… problems.” He explained with a sigh. He didn’t know why he felt the need to tell her everything.
Actually, he did know. He knew EXACTLY why.
But he never thought she would be able to get things out of him like She could. Maybe Project: Shift was a bit too alike the one she was designed in the image of.
The tiny girl nodded her head once, signifying she understood. She always did, didn’t she? The doctor didn’t have very long to dwell on this thought however, because soon enough, one of the lights on the far wall started to flash a blue color, drawing the attention of both the scientist and the small girl whom appeared to be not a day past 16.
Exactly like whom she was modeled in the image of.
The scientist stared at the flashing light for a moment, gathering himself and his thoughts before turning back towards the girl. “I think you’ve charged enough. Unhook yourself and fetch your twin. You both are going to have to show your newest brother around and introduce him to everything.” The scientist ordered, just finishing with putting everything away. The young girl reached toward the back of her neck where there was a thick black wire plugged into the back of her neck and, with a sharp tug, she pulled it out. The sudden jerk of her small frame causing the chains attached to her skirt and boots as well as the ones attached to her earrings rattling about. Setting the wire down on the table beside her, she picked up the plug sitting next to where she set down the wire and pushed it into the hole in the back of her neck that the wire was pulled out of. With the plug in place, the back of her neck was flawless and seamless.
One wouldn’t be able to tell she was just recently hooked up to a machine.
With the grace only mimicable by a predatory cat, she walked towards the door. The faint sway of her hair along with the small rolling of her hips and the movements of her legs being the only movement in her as she walked, the rest of her completely still.
Placing a hand on the door, the girl turned to glance over her shoulder. This doctor, this scientist… he was different from the others. She didn’t know why, but he was. Some things he did triggered flashes in her mental process, flashes of memories she was near positive she shouldn’t have. She wasn’t truly real after all, she had never been, so why did she have memories of a childhood when she had never had one? She had never been able to answer these questions, and though she was the longest-running of all the projects, it didn’t mean the doctors knew everything about her.
After all, they didn’t know that she was gaining memories… or that any of the other long-running projects were.
She glanced over her shoulder, peering at the young scientist through a single silver cat’s eye, watching the doctor whom the very sight of caused an odd… somewhat of a clenching feeling in her chest every time she saw him. Not that she had ever told this to any of the doctors or scientists here. “Dr. Sabre?” she called. The young doctor didn’t so much as glance up, too wound up in his work, as he had been even before he lost Her. “What is it, Miyuki?” he asked, almost instintively. Too fast to have registered that he had just called the experiment by the wrong name. One thing she had never understood, the doctors and scientists always made a point of not bothering to call any of the experiments by their stage names, which they fondly used for each other. They made a point to always refer to them as whatever experiment they were. Dr. Sabre was different in this manner. He would slip up every so often and call the girl by her stage name, but as if he had known her for many years instead of having participated in creating her. Oddly enough, sometimes he even slipped up as far as to call her “Yuuie”.
“Thank you, for trusting me with this information.” She said before quickly slipping out. She didn’t see the young scientist stop in his work as soon as she had left to grip his head within his hands, trembling momentarily before opening a drawer and pulling out a somewhat aged photo of a happy teenage couple, though a rather mismatched one.
He touched the picture softly, as if he could reach through the photograph and stroke the warm, soft cheek of his long lost love. Half-heartedly, he turned the picture over, his fingers gently brushing over the dents made in the back of the photo paper from the harshness of how his silly, aggressive beloved pressed too hard with the pen when scrawling in what she wanted to write, clearly frustrated with the pen’s decision to not cooperate with her.

Sorry ‘bout that, my brother got a hold of this. (he's being a pussy 'cuz i stole his pen xD)
Anyway! I hope your having a blast with the schooling (how you’re able to stand so much school all year round, I’ll never know.) and everyone misses you a ton (just ignore what my brother says, he’s an idiot, he misses you too )
Ande-boy decided to take a picture of the two of us wupping everyone else’s asses at the water fight at Justin’s birthday and decided to give this to me now. I thought you should have it, since you’re the one with all the pics of the two of us. ( )
COME HOME SOON! I miss you *tear*
Oh, and just a note, if you’ve been cheating on my while you’ve been at school, I will find out, and you will suffer the consequences.
Mmkay? ^-^

Colby… Dr.Sabre, smiled as he read over the note a few times. Looking at this picture and what was scrawled onto the back of it, it hurt, a lot. Just about as much as it hurt to keep it around. He couldn’t bring himself to throw it out however, it was all he really had left of Her… the picture and the knowledge.
The knowledge that, hours after she mailed it to him, just after hiding her younger siblings away…
She was murdered.
None of her siblings or friends had survived either.
Project: Shift, who preferred to be called Miyuki for unknown reasons (Ki to her siblings she was close to, though two particular siblings had a habit of often calling her Yuki, which she didn’t mind) made her way down the white-on blinding white walls to the room where their newest brother was in. The room where she was expecting her younger twin and their sister created just after them to be waiting just outside of. It wasn’t long before she turned the corner and…
“What took ‘ya so long, Ki?”
Miyuki smirked hearing her twin’s greeting. Typical Cris.
“Yeah, yeah. Hey to you too… two” she couldn’t help but giggle at the end of what she said, it amused her. The taller of the two girls by the door rolled her ice blue cat’s eyes at the newcommer’s slightly lame joke, but couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at the corners of her full lips at seeing the tiny girl again.
Hey, they were twins after all; just excuse the fact that they look absolutely nothing alike under any circumstance in any way, shape or form.
Crissatha Pandora, Cris to most, Ice Bitch to some and Project: Shift 2.0 to the scientists and doctors that worked there blew her red bangs out of her eyes. No, not a natural red, red as in blood red. She moved her head about, as if stretching out the muscles in her neck. Her long black hair with its blood red layer atop swaying slightly to the tall girl’s neck movements.
She didn’t need to stretch her neck or any other part of her before doing something ever. None of them did.
The other girl whom had been waiting with Cris smiled at the sight of the new arrival. Her light blue eyes like spring skies lighting up with the smile that illuminated the rest of beautifully innocent face. She was seemingly as delicate as a frail flower unlike the other two who stood in the pure white hallway with her. That didn’t mean she was something to be walked all over however.
Appearances can be deceiving.
Astraea Dike, Raea or Rae to her friends and Project: Foresight to the scientists and doctors that worked there, put her arms behind her back, clutching them there without a thought to it and rocked back and forth on her heels while the twins talked about something that didn’t really involve her, causing her chocolate brown locks with their royal blue streaks to twirl and sway with her, seeing as how it fell and bounced around her in luxurious wavy locks. She didn’t know why she did this, but she sometimes found herself doing so. As if it were a habit. But that was ridiculous.
None of them possessed habits. They just weren’t capable of it.
“I read our new brother’s file, they called him Project: Phoenix.” Raea piped up, calling forth the attention of her elder sisters, earning questioning and somewhat confused looks from them. “Huh… Odd.” Cris said after a moment, shrugging her shoulders. “Wonder what that’s supposed to mean.” Miyuki wondered aloud. All of their project names had something to do with what was supposed to make them individual from the other projects after all. Miyuki, Project: Shift, could change herself within the blink of an eye, she could become a completely different person or creature in the blink of an eye, changing so completely that she could give herself a completely new personality, voice, scent, even finger print. However, she had a flaw. As soon as she became someone/thing new, that “person” or "creature" became a part of her program, which was a flaw that couldn’t be fixed without termination of the whole project. Which was why Cris was version 2.0, because she could change herself almost as completely, with the exception of the full shift in personality, in how she acted. That she would have to act out herself. She had an advantage to it of course, no memory files got hidden with the shifts in “personas” and she didn’t appear to be half mad.
Then there was Raea, Project: Foresight. Seeming to be a success at first trial without need of being terminated. She was an attempt at a true oracle without the rhymes and riddles. The doctors and scientists believed she was still developing her powers however, given that she could only give the completely truthfully honest answer to a question of the future when the situation if fully laid out and explained to her. Leave a single thing out and the prediction appears wrong. Raea had recently started gaining flashes of future events however, and she always won a game of chance. She was definitely improving at her own pace.
“Lets go in and meet this new brother of ours.” Cris said with a sigh as she flung the door open and stalked into the room, her two sisters following after and shutting the door behind themselves. She didn’t want to be doing this as much as she knew Miyuki didn’t want to. Raea… there was the possibility she may want to, to help their new brother out, but Cris would much rather be playing her guitar then helping welcome the new boy into the world.
