If they speak funny, pardon me it's how they spoke back in 1607!

London, England, 1607

London England was crowded today for the launching of the ship and the Virginia Company. Leading this expedition was Kalona, a handsome man who dressed in dark suits all the time, with his assistant, Neferet, at his side always. On this crew were a few men, Daniel Bastet, a Frenchborn man who's parents moved to England, only to have Daniel kidnapped at the age of six and held captive for eight years, he soon escaped and reported the man, who now is dead, Daniel then became the best explorer England has ever known, with deep blue eyes as clear as the ocean and brown hair as gold as the crown of England. Colby Sabre, an Englishman, only surpassed Daniel in combat, being one of the best men to handle any kind of weapon and shoot with deadly accuracy, with brown eyes and bright blond hair like the sun, the last one I'll mention is Justin Flyte, an Englishman who is a flail, but only on this mission to make his family proud, Justin has brown hair and blue eyes, the color of the sky.

Justin and Colby knew each other since childhood, and they were already on the boat, having said goodbye to their parents long before.

“Hey Colby, where do you think Pride is?”

”Who, Bastet? He'll be here Justin, trust me, he wouldn't miss this journey.” Just as he said that Daniel swung in from a rope carrying goods onto the magnificent ship. He landed like a cat and stood straight, not even breaking a sweat. Justin clapped then slipped on the deck, landing on his back. Daniel laughed and held his hand out, helping the boy up.

Before I go any further, I must tell you that there aren't just humans in this story. In this story there is a species of vampyres. Daniel, Justin and Colby are all blue vampyres, meaning they have blue crescent mark tattoos on their foreheads and blue tattoos surrounding their eyes like a mask. Each has an affinity, or power. Colby's an excellent fighter, Daniel can hide his scars and imperfections, but only those, he can also change his eyes and hair color, but just that, and Justin can copy others affinities, and has control over the earth, creating mini earthquakes, but he doesn't do that often. Kalona is not a vampyre, just a very rich man.

Speak of the Devil and he shall come. Kalona stepped onto the deck and Daneil, Colby and Justin stood at attention. Kalona smiled and walked over to them.

“I assume you all are ready for this journey?” Kalona asked, smiling. Daniel saluted and nodded.

“Yes sir.” Kalona smiled and walked up to Daneil.

”Ahh, Mr. Bastet, I assume you can hardly keep your excitement from becoming like Mr. Flyte's?” Daniel nodded and smiled at him. Justin looked at Colby and he shrugged.

“Believe me, Sir, my whole life I've been ready.” Kalona walked away and Daniel sat on the rail of the ship, looking at the open ocean and not the crowd of people. “Besides, what can be so different about this new world?”

**~~Virginia, 1607~~**

Across the Atlantic Ocean and in the new world, lied a tribe of vampyres and humans. The warriors, the male ones, were away at war with a neighboring tribe, the women and children were safe at home, collecting food and crops for the seasons ahead, while planting new ones before the first frost, which was still many moons away. In the forests, however, were three sisters, two in a canoe, looking for their youngest.

Miyuki, a female warrior for the tribe, was searching the forests and sky for her younger sister. Miyuki was a rare beauty, even if she was on the short side, with pale skin white as snow, silver eyes, and long black hair dark as the night sky. She was a vampyre as well, but not a blue one, her marks were a dark gray, symbolizing her connection with the spirits around her. Her affinity was for fire, and she kept her tribe alive during the cold harsh winters and protected the tribe when others invaded.

Sitting beside her in the canoe was Crissatha, Cris for short, she was just as beautiful as Miyuki, only taller, her skin was pale but not white, her eyes were cold as ice, but still held many expressions, her hair was a caramel color, and braided in colorful beads and threads to create a colorful look, like a rainbow but only using dark colors like reds, purples, blues and blacks.

They both wore animal skin dresses, Cris wearing skin tight pants under hers that ended at her ankles, no shoes on her feet. Ki wore a short skirt, ragged at the bottom and a top that showed her stomach and ribcage, she carried knives, and a bow and arrows, Cris carried one strapped to her thigh, that's why she wore leggings.

“Do you see her anywhere Cris?” Ki asked, looking along the banks. Cris made a grunt, which was Cris talk for no.

”Wait I see her! Up there!! RAEA!!!” Cris yelled, sending an echo around the area. Raea looked down from her perch above the waterfall, a wolf at her feet. She saw the canoe and smiled. “Our father's back home! Come down so we can go see him!” Raea smiled and looked at Juno, who's tail was wagging at the sound of Cris's voice.

“C'mon Juno let's go see Father!” Raea stood up and the wind caught her hair, sending the dark brown waves and blue beads and thread to dance in the wind. She smiled and inhaled deeply, then started running down the mountain to greet them at the river bank, then turned around and jummped off the cliff, diving down into the water.

“NO! Not that way!” Ki and Cris yelled, watching Raea jump off the cliff. Their sister Astraea wasn't exactly the most graceful fledgling. She tripped often, but was a great priestess, predicting rain and war better than any other shaman, especially her father. Cris covered her eyes as she heard a quiet splash, meaning Raea dove into the water, she looked back and looked around, moving the water with her affinity to see if Raea was OK. Soon the boat tipped over and Ki and Cris fell into the water. Raea was under the canoe laughing, the Twins splashed Raea and soon a war broke out between them. Raea was losing so she dove back under and motioned for them to move the canoe back over. Soon they were all in and soaking wet.

“Goodness that was fun!” Raea said, smiling. Her tattoos were filled in, and an eye under her left eye told of her status in the tribe, priestess. Cris had icy looking marks but she was still the best friend a girl could have, Ki's were flames, showing her status as a warrior. Cris soon moved the water so they got home quickly, just enough time to dry off in their tent. Ki started a fire in the tent and Raea hung the clothesline, taking off her dress and putting on to dry. Cris did the same with her outfit but Ki kept her's on, claiming it'll dry faster on her. Raea grabbed another dress and put it on, braiding her hair so it would curl. Cris bent the water out of hers and put the shirt and pants back on.

“Look, Chii and Kor!” Chii, a cougar cub, entered the tent, going straight up to Cris, who was the cub's mother, Kor went to Ki, licking her face lightly. Juno entered the tent and walked up to Raea, setting her head on her lap. “Father will be home soon?”

“Yeah, the water vibrated with the drums of the warriors.” Sephora entered the tent and smiled at them. Sephora was the daughter of the chief, but in no way was she spoiled. She worked as hard as the others, and she was gifted with knowledge because of it. She could also turn into a big cat, but she didn't often. Red came in soon after and smiled.

Sephora had brown curly hair and dark grey marks surrounding her eyes, Red had wispy marks around her eyes, signifying her bringer of air to the tribe. Red had, whadda ya know, red curly hair and blue eyes. They all were friends, and no suitors, although Raea had one. Aucaman, a clingy boy but he was a great warrior, handsome and wasn't a vampyre. Raea looked at Juno's eyes and had a vision. Juno's light blue eyes changed to deep blue, and her face changed to a vampyres, but he was a stranger. His hair was the color of dark cougar fur, and his tattoos a blue color. He was handsome, and he then looked to others, a smaller boy, he looked like he wouldn't last a day in the wilderness, and another boy, only taller than him and more muscular, he looked like a leader, he'd do well. The vision ended and she saw her sisters and friends look at her.

“Strangers...Coming to our land.” Raea said simply. Cris's hand went to her thigh and Ki's arms quickly went to her bow and arrow. “But...I don't know when.” Raea sighed and stood up, leaving the tent. Cris and Ki frowned, the twins expressions mirroring each others.

Cris was the daughter of a chief of another tribe, but was kicked out due to being too unruly. She was found my Astraea's father and taken into the family, Ki was found as a baby, abandoned in the forest, which Astraea's father quickly adopted. The friends knew each other for years.

A horn sounded and Raea ran to the banks of the river, she tripped once but got up quickly and kept running. Her father was exiting a canoe and when he saw his daughter he smiled and held his arms open. Raea jumped into them and laughed happily as he spun her around.

“Oh Daughter I missed you.” Raea smiled and kissed her father's cheek.

“I missed you too, Father. I'm glad you're unhurt.” Raea said, smiling. He kissed her head and put her back on the ground. He walked over to the group of girls and they all greeted him back home. Soon the chieftan stood and started speaking. He spoke about them winning the war, for which Raea was not surprised, she knew, then he spoke of a marriage going to happen. He invited the medicine man to speak.

With the Virginia Company
Daniel helped the crew pull the sails up, the storm being worse than before. Justin went to go tie the cannons together with the other crew members but the cannon got lose and before they knew it Justin was in the water, flaling.

“HELP!! HELP!!” Justin yelled, waving his arms. Colby grabbed the rope and tied it around his waist, then jumped into the water, Daniel and the rest of the men held onto the rope as Colby swam to save the drowning boy. When they were back on the deck, Justin was coughing and Colby was gently patting his back. Daniel knelt down next to them and handed Justin his hat back. Justin smiled at them both and coughed. “Thanks.”

“Be more careful, Justin, those cannons can get pretty dangerous.” Colby teased, ruffling Justin's hair. Justin laughed and smacked Colby's arm lightly.

“What is going on around here?” Kalona asked, walking down from the captain's cabin. Neferet held his umbrella over his head. Daniel stood up and spoke.

”Justin fell overboard, sir. Colby jumped into save him.” Kalona nodded then looked at Justin.

”Keep safe men, and if another person goes overboard, let him drown.” He looked Justin right in the eye and left for his cabin. Daniel sighed and looked at Justin, he helped Colby stand the boy up and took him down to the crew's quarters to rest. Daniel looked back out to the sky before going below deck, and sighed, the clouds a dark grey color, he then walked down and closed the door.

Back with the Natives

”Aucaman has asked for my daughter's hand in marriage, and I know the spirits approve of this match, I know I do, she accepts his proposal.” Raea's jaw dropped and Cris and Ki nearly exploded in anger. They all knew Raea hated Aucaman!! Raea stormed back to her tent and Cris and Ki left to go freeze and burn Aucaman's ass off. Raea's father entered the tent and he sighed. ”You're mad at me aren't you?”

”Father I don't want to marry him, I saw my future and it's not him.”

”Daughter, your mother once said futures are never set into stone, they are free as the wind. Come.” He took her to the river and smiled. ”You want a husband who is steady and unchanging, one that will take care of you, just as the river takes care of us.” He smiled and kissed her head, he took out a necklace of beads and weaved it into her hair. ”This was your mothers before she died, she wore it on our wedding day, and she would have wanted you to wear it.” Raea sighed and nodded.

”I shall think about it Father.” Raea said, he smiled and walked away. She looked at the river and saw Cris and Ki walk up to her on either side. ”I am to be married.”

”Don't worry Astraea, we'll make sure it doesn't happen.” Ki said, a small flame appearing in her hand. Raea laughed a little and looked at Cris.

”Yeah, we'll make sure he can't sit for weeks.” She smiled and Raea grabbed a canoe and pushed it into the water. ”Going to the willow tree?

”Yes, would you like to come? Raea asked, she saw Red and Sephora run up to them.

”I'd like to go! Red said, smiling. Sephora nodded and smiled.

”I'd like to go as well.” Raea then grabbed a larger canoe and they all piled in. Raea looked around and frowned, where was Aqu? Maybe with her boyfriend. Raea pushed the canoe into the water and smiled.

”What I love most about rivers is you can't step in the same river twice.
The water's always changing, always flowing
But people I guess can't live like that
They all must pay a price
To be safe we lose our chance of ever knowing Raea sang softly as Cris bended the water to move them along, the others using their paddles to move it faster. Raea smiled and saw Juno running along the river bank, barking happily. Red used her power to shift the air and carry Juno to the canoe, along with Chii and Kor.

”What's around the river bend
Waiting just around the river bend
I look once more just around the river bend
Beyond the shore where the gulls fly free

For me, coming for me” Red said, using the air to bend the leaves around them, carry them so they dance.

”I feel it there beyond those trees
Or right behind these waterfalls
Can I ignore that sound of distant drumming?
For a handsome sturdy husband who builds handsome sturdy walls
And never dreams that something might be coming” Raea pointed to two beavers, building a dam across the way, Red sighed and looked at the others, they were enjoying the music, Ki stopped rowing and started pounding a beat into the sides of the canoe.

”Just around the river bend

Beyond the shore, somewhere past the sea

Just around the river bend” Cris sang as she moved the canoe safely through the rapids and waterfalls, giving shrieks of laughed from the other girls in the boat, enjoying the time they were having. The boat stopped at a crossroads, Raea looked at them then at the water, the water changing to see a vison.

Should I choose the smoothest course steady as the beating drum?
Should I marry Aucaman?
Is all my dreaming at an end?
Or do you still wait for me, dream-giver, just around the river bend? She pointed to the crooked waters and they moved the canoe down it, maneuvering the rapids and deep waters of the river.
Soon they got to their alcove, where a huge willow tree was. Raea pulled the canoe to the shore, with the help of Cris, then they all walked to the tree and sat down around it. Sephora sat near the tree trunk, she was the wisest, so they asked her questions or just talked.

”Look Astraea I'll talk to my father, if he approves of the decision, there's not much I can do. Just...follow your visions and listen to your heart.” Raea sighed and looked at them.

”How? My visions are all I've known.” Red started the leaves to sway and sang.


Ay ay ay ya
Ay ay ya The leaves swayed around Raea and the other girls, this message was to all of them, not just Astraea.


“Que que na-to-ra

You will understand

Like a wave upon the sand” Sephora sang softly and slowly, her voice being carried around the enclosure. Raea closed her eyes and listened softly.

Something's coming....Strange clouds
”Clouds?” Raea started climbing, Ki and Cris close behind her.

“Listen with your heart
You will understand”


You will understand ... Red sang softly, Raea looked down and yelled.

”Strange clouds are above the trees! They're all... odd.”

**~~Virginia Company, Jamestown, Virginia~~**

Kalona looked outside and smiled, sighing happilly.

”Look at it Neferet. All that gold, just waiting to be found!” Kalona looked at his assistant and she nodded, smiling.

”Yes, sir.” Neferet said, brushing his hair and putting it back into a ponytail with a black ribbon. ”But sir this is your last chance at glory in the eyes of our king...Are you sure this is a good idea?” Kalona turned around and kissed her forehead once.

”I know this is my last chance, but trust me, once King James sees the gold, success will be mine at last, and I wouldn't even have to lift a finger!”

Outside the captain's quarters, Daniel got a group of five men to leave with him, two of the men being Justin and Colby. They lowered a boat down and got into it, rowing to shore. In the forests there were five sets of eyes watching them, each of a different color. Once the boat landed, Daniel got out and started walking, a set of blue eyes followed him, Justin walked in the opposite direction, a pair of icy blue eyes watched him like a hawk. Colby got out and walked straight ahead, and the set of silver followed him, sticking close to the ground.

Daniel walked off and climbed a rock wall before standing next to a tree and surveying the land. The sheer beauty of the green hills was enough to make anyone shed a tear, but not Daniel. He soon continued on his way, but not after a head poked out from behind the bushes, watching him with her blue eyes.

She never saw a man like him before. He wore something shiny on his head, around his chest was more of the shiny stuff, and he wore blue pants and brown shoes, a light blue shirt under the shiny thing. She slowly followed him until he was at a cliff, Juno walked past her and Raea tried to stop the dog, but hand to hide when Juno sniffed his leg.

”Hello there pup, where'd you come from?” He knelt down next to the wolf and Juno wagged her tail, licking his face. ”Down girl!” Raea smiled and moved the bushes leaves out of the way, Juno looked at the bush and barked a little. Raea scooted back as fast as she could, her hair falling into her face. ”A friend of yours over there?” The man stood up and started walking to her, but a horn sounded, much stranger than what Astraea was used to, and he left quickly.

”C'mon Pride!!” A younger man yelled. Raea quickly left the bush and ran down the mountain, following the man called Pride.

~~**With Justin and Cris**~~

Justin somehow managed to get into a fight with a chipmunk, how he didn't know. He currently was holding his umbrella out to it, waving it around and flailing, also that had to do with the fact he just stepped on some wild mushrooms earlier and shook them off. He was waving his umbrella at the chipmunk until he heard a twig snap near his left. He pointed it to the noise and a girl jumped out and had her knife pointed at him, ready to fight. His umbrella shot open and he flew backwards, startling him and the girl, but only slightly. Justin looked up and his jaw dropped.

”Uhh...hi.” The girl stepped toward him again, her eyes cold and unforgiving. She spoke a language he didn't understand, and he gulped. Savage...

Cris rose her eyebrow. Did he not hear her threat? ”What are you and what are you doing here?!” Cris yelled again. The thing just threw a rock at her and she blocked it using her affinity, making ice appear from nowhere. The ground shook beneath her and she fell down, the boy running as the earth continued to shake. She looked up and saw that he was gone. She cursed aloud and slammed the earth, she then started to walk back to her tribe.

~~**Ki and Colby**~~
Colby watched Daniel go his way and thought he saw someone following him, but Colby continued his way, ignoring what Daniel was doing, he was searching for something to practice shooting at, a bear or a nice big tree. He soon entered a clearing and saw a boat. His eyebrow raised but he heard a shout behind him. He turned around and pointed his musket at the thing, but his eyes went wide when he saw her.

She had skin as pale as the moon, eyes as bright as the silver coin in his pocket, and she was pointing a bow and arrow at him, her eyes hard, and the tip was flaming. He looked at her marks and saw that she was a vampyre, and a hot one! Her top did little to cover her and her skirt was so ragged he could see her upper thighs! A lot less clothes than the average woman back in London. She spoke again but he didn't cock his musket, he just set it on the ground and didn't fire.

Miyuki watched the man. He was handsome, she had to admit that, but he was foreign, she didn't know him. When he put that thing on the ground she took that as a sign that he didn't want to fight, so she put the flame out and lowered her arrow, but only slightly. A horn sounded off into the distance and he grabbed what Miyuki could only assume was his weapon and ran off into the forest. Miyuki quickly got into the canoe as soon as Cris did and they started off. ”Where's Raea? Red? Sephora?”

”Don't know, we just need to warn the chief about the newcomers! Raea was right they're here!”

Ki shook her head.

”We cannot go back without Raea, her father will KILL us! We must find her, first Red and Sephora.” They jumped back out of the canoe and started to search.
**~~Virgina Company~~** (Little lazy to continue that \/)
Kalona saw Daniel walk back into camp along with Colby he then handed him a loaded musket, and smiled. ”Mr. Bastet, scout the area.” Daniel nodded and started back out.

”If there are any Indians out there, I'll find them.” Daniel said, going back out to scout the area, unaware that the same girl that was watching him earlier, was watching him now. Colby and Justin were thrown shovels and they rose their eyebrows.
Kalona smiled and laid a map down, explaining that it was now their turn to search for gold.

”The gold of Cortes
The jewels of Pizarro
Will seem like mere trinkets
By this time tomorrow

All the while, Daniel was exploring the area, climbing cliffs, swinging on vines, crossing tree trunks above roaring waterfalls, all while the woman was watching him.

Hey nonny nonny nonny it's mine!” Kalona smiled and then looked at his men. ”What are you doing? Get back to work! Build the fort! I don't want any savages getting into our camp! GO!!” The men all scattered off, building the walls of the fort, cutting down trees and destroying the Natives land.

**~~Daniel's Exploration~~**

Daniel stopped near a river, taking off his helmet and setting it down on the ground. He dipped his hands into the river and took a sip of the cool water, letting it fall down the sides of his mouth and down his throat, reviving him. He took another sip then washed his face off with another handful. He dipped down once more and saw a figure standing behind him on a cliff, but he figured it was the water playing tricks on his tired eyes. He washed his face once more and looked around, he put his helmet back on his head and started off across the river.

The river had stones leading across, and near it was a waterfall. Raea was close to him, too close. She had to get closer. She slowly made her way down and jumped onto the first stone. Daniel was halfway across. He turned around and saw a shadow moving. He lit the wick on his gun and blew on it gently, after a few seconds he jumped and pointed the gun at the figure. What he saw next made him almost drop his gun.

The figure slowly rose, her hair blowing in the slight breeze. She wore a skintight animal hide dress that was accented only by the curves of her body. Her eyes were a light blue, the color of the sky, and her hair was a delicate shade of chocolate. He then saw her tattoos and realized she was a vampyre, but her tattoos were not blue like his, they were a dark gray, and they looked tribal, she was an Indian! Well when he said he'd find them he didn't mean like this!!

Raea saw him set his gun down gently and hold out his hand. Raea felt her flight instinct kick in and started running. She heard him yell something but she didn't understand. Run, don't stay! She ran through trees and was almost into the clearing when she tripped over a tree root and landed on the ground. She tried to stand up and continue running but his shadow was over her. She covered her head and prepared herself for a blow, but it didn't come. She slowly looked up at him and saw the most beautiful eyes. Deep blue, like the waters along the coast, or the sky before the sun fully sets. She sat up and slowly stood again, she tried to run but he grabbed her wrist. She looked at him and gulped.

”Who are you?” Daniel asked. Raea rose her eyebrow and shook her head.

”Mat-ta-que na-to-rath.” Raea said, shaking her head.

”You don't understand a word I'm saying do you?” Raea's eyes flicked to the left and right and she breathed deeply. The words of Sephora rung in her head and she closed her eyes, calming down. ”Who are you?” He said again.

And this time she understood him, but she knew it wouldn't last long.

”Astraea.”

”Pardon?” Daniel asked, smiling a little, he got her to speak! Boy was he glad he did.

”My name is Astraea.” She smiled a little and he chuckled a little.

”I'm Daniel Bastet.”

**~~Back with the Tribe~~**
Cris and Ki ended up coming back home only with Red and Sephora. They knew Raea knew the land but they still were in trouble, at least to themselves. Sephora said that Raea was out picking berries but did not know of the strangers, to which her father ordered Cris, Red and Ki to go look for her, but after the chief said his announcement.

”Until we know what these strangers are here for, no one is to go near them! Aucaman, take ten of your finest and study these white men, I shall like to know if the strangers are friend or foe.” As he turned into the tent, Sephora ran up to him and tapped his shoulder. ”Yes daughter?”

”Father, Astraea does not wish to marry Aucaman, he-” Her father held his hand up and Sephora felt her blood boil.

”The wedding shall be in four days, no exceptions, Sephora.” He entered the tent and Sephora yelled, stomping back to the other girls. Ki and Cris knew what they had to do now. They went off with Aucaman, not only to watch the men but to find Raea!!

**~~Daniel and Raea~~**

Raea stared at the thing in her hands, moving it this way and that, seeing her reflection move as the thing did.

”It's a helmet.” Daniel said, watching her. He loved the curiosity in her eyes, it made her look...beautiful.

”Helmet.” Raea repeated, testing the word on her tongue. She giggled a little and put the hat on her head. She saw Daniel look at the river and raise his eyebrow.

”What's this river called?”

”Qui-u-kah-hon-ic.” Raea said, looking at her reflection in the water. She saw Daniel sneak a glance at her, his eyebrow still raised.

”You have the most unusual names. Quie...Qui-u-kah-hon-ic....Astraea.” He lifted the helmet on her head and she took it off, the beads in her hair clinking against the metal.

”Your name is unusual too, Daniel Bastet.” He closed his eyes and laughed.

”You want to know my nickname?”

”A nickname?”

”What your friends or family call you. Mine's Pride.” At this Astraea giggled. ”What's so funny?”

”Pride?” Another round of giggles started and Daniel shook his head, he wouldn't admit it but a light blush rose on his cheeks.

”You got a better one?”

”Yes, Raea.” Daniel smiled and scooted closer to her, his hand near hers.

”What a....lovely name.” He said. Her face filled with a red color and Daniel loved it immediately. Then the wolf from earlier came up and started licking his face. ”Is this lovable mutt a friend of yours?” He asked, Raea just laughed and started petting the dog.

”Juno...” Raea said, the dog went over to her and nuzzled her head to the girl. She laughed and kissed the dog's head, Juno rested her head on the Native's leg.

”Pleased to meet you Juno.” Daniel held his hand out to the dog and the dog looked like it rose an eyebrow. Raea rose her's and he chuckled. ”It's just a handshake. Here I'll show you.” He held his hand up to Raea and she just looked at it.

”Nothing's happening.” Raea said.

”Raea, love I need your hand.” Raea rose her eyebrow at the second word in his speech but held her hand up anyway. He took it and shook her hand up and down. ”This is how vampyres say hello to humans and humans to humans. This is how vampyres say hello.” His hand then grasped her forearm and Raea grasped his quickly. Ahh so she was used to this greeting. She let go soon after and smiled. She stood up and fixed her dress.

”This is how we say hello. 'Win-ga-po.” Raea used her arm to make a big waving motion, but only once.

”Win-ga-po.” Daniel said slowly, his wave smaller.

”And how we say goodbye, 'Ah-nah'.” Raea went into another hand motion but Daniel grabbed her hand and smiled at her.

”I like hello, better.” Daniel said, standing closer to her. Raea felt her cheeks grow hotter and she started to go off again. ”Where are you going?

”Back to my tribe!” Raea said, starting to go back into the forest, but he caught up with her.

”I wish I could go back to London that fast.”

”Is that your village? Raea asked, turning around to face him. He nodded and took her back to the big tree near the river.

He sat down at the trunk of the tree and she sat down next to him, smiling.

Daniel started to talk about the streets of London, instead of the dirt and grass Raea was used to, the buildings were as tall as trees and bridges went across the rivers. Raea closed her eyes and imagined what the town would look like, then saw it, and her walking down the road. She looked sad, but she didn't know why. She opened her eyes and saw Daniel looking at her. ”Well?”

”It sounds exciting, wish I could see it.” At this Daniel got excited.

”You will, we're going to build them here! Show your people how to live off the land properly.” The way he said it...it made Raea feel ignorant, a feeling she detested with all her being.

”What's that supposed to mean?” Raea asked, scooting away from him.

”Nothing nothing! It’s just that we’ve improved the lives of savages all over the world.”

”SAVAGES?!” Raea stood up and started walking away. Daniel got up and walked after her, spouting apologies, er, exuses.

”You’re not a savage!”

”Oh really? What’s the meaning of the word savage? Uncivilized?” Raea asked, then turned back around and started running. Daniel ran after her.

”It’s just a term for people who are…how do I explain this?” He ran his hand through his hair and Raea stopped. She turned around and walked right up to him. She looked him straight in the eye and sighed.

”What you mean is, not like you.” She picked up his helmet and put it back in his hands. He looked at her and she looked at the ground.

” You think I'm an ignorant savage

You don't know ...” She started walking back up to the cliff and Daniel followed her. She grabbed a stick and held it like a staff.

You'll learn things you never knew you never knew” She showed him a family of cougars and one of them ran up to him, trying to play with him. Raea smiled and patted Chii’s head, Kor behind Chii, purring.

You can paint with all the colors of the wind.” Raea ended up right where they started. Near the willow tree and river. Daniel’s hands were holding hers, and she started to lean forward when she heard drums off in the distance.

”What’s wrong?” Daniel asked, watching her.

”The drums…They mean trouble… I have to go.” She started walking away but he grabbed her hand and looked at her.

”No, please stay.” He begged, but she shook her head.

”I’m sorry…” Raea said, her hand sliding out of his slowly. She turned back around and started running back home.

**~~With Aucaman and his warriors~~**

Ki and Cris were trying very hard to remain professional, but with Aucaman as their brother-in-law-to-be they had to torture him. NO not tease, torture. Raea hated him and they hated him as well. So, they had to torture him. Ki was currently trying to set the ground on fire under his feet but he kept moving around, causing Cris to put the flames out before they caught the forest on fire. This was pissing the twins off real bad. They needed to kick his ass and kick it soon.

”C’mon Aucaman stay still!” Ki mumbled, setting fire again, only this time she set it near a tree as he moved again. Cris cursed and put the flames out. Ki nearly screamed but she saw one of their warriors look over a log and at the camp of the strangers.

”No!” Cris yelled, but it was too late. The strangers started using their weapons, Ki climbed a tree and aimed her arrows at the strangers, shooting three or four at a time, lighting the areas they fell with fire. Cris quickly froze Aucaman’s hand to his thigh, where his knife was, grabbed her knife and froze water around it, she then threw the knife but held the handle, letting the ice fly off and slice the nearest person it hit. Soon thunder sounded but it was from a weapon and one of their men fell down, holding his leg. Cris ran and froze the area around it to stop the bleeding; Aucaman picked him up and looked around.

”Back to the village!” Aucaman yelled, and Ki shot one more arrow and they all ran back to the village. Along the way there Cris and Ki split from the group and ran back through the cornfields, where they found Raea running back home.

”RAEA!!” The girls yelled, Raea looked to them and they tacklehugged her. She laughed and hugged them back. Ki quickly stood up and Raea giggled, standing as well.

”We thought we lost you, what happened?”

”I’ll tell you later, not now, I heard the drums.”

”Aucaman must have told the chief, your father’s attending to a wounded man right now we must hurry back.” Cris said, running forward. Raea ran after her, trying very hard not to trip, and Miyuki ran ahead of them and nearly slammed into Red.

”Slow down Ki!! Raea your father’s in with the man, he’s worried sick about you.” Raea nodded and entered the chief’s tent, her father was chanting over the man’s wound and Raea stayed in the back, afraid to break his concentration. After a while her father sighed and looked at the chief.

”This wound is strange to me.” He said, he then saw Raea and motioned for her to come over. Raea walked over to him and saw the man groan in pain. ”Astraea do you know the cause of this wound? Did you see it happen?” Raea looked at the wound and shook her head.

”I’m sorry, Father….I don’t.” Raea said, frowning. Her father patted her back and she smiled a little and left the tent, the chief following her quickly. She walked past Aucaman but he grabbed her by her waist and held her to him, she looked disgusted and tried to pull away.

”These strange men are dangerous! No one is to go near them!” Raea’s eyes went wide and he looked at one of their faster members. ”Go send a message to our brothers across the water; we need all the strength we need to defeat these men.” Just then Aucaman let go of Rae and she sprinted into the corn fields, Cris and Ki following close behind, Cris’s hand covered in ice and Ki’s burning with fire.

On Aucaman’s back, a burn in the shape of a small hand, the other were long scraps that had frozen blood on his back.
