TADA! (Sephora)

[Raine Ashera]

It had been too long. But in some ways, it really hadn't been long enough. Part of her really wanted to be back in New York. But the Dream Lady told her she was needed here. That her best friend needed her. And she had too much honor not to answer what the Dream Lady said or to leave her best friend and roommate alone. She absently stroked the fur of the tiny black kitten who never seemed to get any bigger who rode on her shoulder. What was it they always said about facing the music? She was a dancer, it was nothing different then walking on stage and stealing the show. If she was needed...well then she could just drag her butt back down here to the South where she stuck out like a sore thumb.

Even more so now.

She ruffled her fingers through her hair. What was once long and curly was chopped short on teh top layer and styled long and straight on teh bottom layers. It was more scene then what it had been before. She wondered if Seph would even recognize her ex-roomie and now roomie again. On top of that she had died more black and red-brown into her hair, making her stand out a little more. Oh well, she liked it. She had gotten it done back home to piss off her father and booooy had it worked. She grinned slightly at the memory.

Not only her looks were different, she was different. A little more serious. A little less bubbly. But that was because...well things had happened back at New York. Things she didn't want to dwell on. Things that had made her happt to come back. She adjusted her usual oversized black leather jacket that covered her scars but hung open to reveal the tattoo of shooting stars just over the scars on her right hip and below the line of what her tank top covered.

She was at the door. It was now or never. Here's hoping Seph was in there. Here's hoping Seph still wanted her for a roomie. Here's hoping she actually wanted to see her at all. She took a deep breath.

And burst in with a grin.

Raine Ashera threw her arms open wide in her typical "tada" pose, one arm up high, the other closer to her hips, her hips cocked to the side, and grinned at Seph. "Miss me?" she asked with her usual bubbly laugh.

Seph was lying down in her dorm room staring at the ceiling tossing a pillow up in the air and catching it. This was what life had come to. The loneliness she always had to feel. She sighed rolling over facing away from the door and towards the window and just looked at it. All she did was sigh and sort of stare off into the middle distance these days. It was fucking pathetic. But there was nothing else for her to do. All the bp were out somewhere and at the moment Seph didn't wanna see people..at least not anyone that was here.

Seph sighed again sitting up now, running fingers through her long hair and then messing with her necklace, thinking about Raine again. She looked across the room at the empty bed sitting there. Empty, just like she felt. The posters and things of Raine's that used to litter the walls were nothing but blank depressing spaces for Seph to stare at. She stood now going to the window, taking the small pocket knife she carried nowadays with her, just in case. The black leggings she had on rose a little and she pulled them down and made her gray tank rose too Fuck it. Seph thought, She wasn't going to attempt to fix anything anymore because nothing mattered. No best Friend. World going to shit. nothing mattered.


Seph's ears perked a bit when she heard someone outside her door and she stood where she was, hoping that it someone just passing by and not coming for her, It was when the knob turned and the swung open that she freaked out. She whipped around hopping on her bed and then flipped open the pocket knife pointing it at who ever it was.

She looked, It was a girl, she didn't recognize her..but the girl had said miss me so Seph looked closer. Raine. Seph's heart sped up a bout a million beats as she looked at the girl wide eyed and out of breath. She couldn't believe it. Raine was back! She dropped the knife on on the bed without another word and hopped off and jumped on Raine smiling and Crying at the same time

"You bet your ass I missed you!"She hugged on tight not wanting to let go, hoping no one would pinch her because she had to be dreaming.

Raine waited there for a patient moment, grinning still, letting Seph take in all the changes she had made to herself. What worried her a bit was the knife. That really did convince Raine more then anything else that Seph probably did need her here if she was wary enough to pull a knife on the first person to walk into the room! The patience Raine showed, waiting for Seph to recognize her, was something that Raine could have never shown two months ago, she really had changed alot, she was a lot calmer, relying more on instinct then impulse these days. New York had shocked that realization back into her.

And then she was tacklehugged. Raine laughed out loud and hugged her right back, just as tight, not ready to let go just yet and Seph didn't seem to either. "Good! I missed you too!" she laughed even as Nightmare let out a startled mew and lept to sit on Raine's currently bare dresser drawers. Nightmare may love Seph, but he thought it best to sit out this little love fest. She squeeze Seph back before stepping back and looking over Seph. "For a second there I thought you were gonna cut me! What, do I look that different" she said with a wide grin, spinning to let Seph see all the changes she had made. From changing her hair color and style to the tattoo on her hip, Raine looked a little less care free and a little bit harder, but Raine liked it.

Then she looked around the room and frowned slightly, waving in her chaufeur with her bags. She frowned a bit when she thought that too. She always felt like such a spoiled brat when she thought that. Chauffer Made her sound so well off when really it was her father who had all the money, she just lived on his good graces. When Mike had set down all her bags she kissed his cheek, thanked him, assured him she'd be fine and waved him off. "Damn it looks empty without all of my shit!" she laughed. Her accent was thicker then the last time she had been down, but she had always talked fast. Oh well, Seph could usually keep up with Raine's quick talking and jumpy mind that never stayed on one topic.

She walked over to where Nightmare sat. He seemed so much happier now then he had in the past weeks and that made Raine so happy. She scooped him up and depostied the tiny kitten in Sephora's arms with a laugh. "He missed you too" she grinned. And he started purring the moment he was in Seph's arms. It made Raine think that he had chosen the both of him with the way he was so much happier when he was withthe two of them again.

Seph was hugging Raine so tight she thought she might squeeze the girl to death, her heart was still pounding away and tears were still falling. She really did need to calm down, but this all seemed so surreal to her. She couldn't believe that Raine was back, That she wouldn't have to feel so alone anymore. She would have jumped for joy if she thought that she could. At the moment though, she just wanted to soak in the fact that She had her best friend back, and maybe, just maybe...things might start to look up again...Seph didn't have her heart too set on that one though.

When Raine had said that she missed her too, Seph didn't say anything because she knew it was true. They were best friends and Raine leaving had been difficult for the both of them. She heard a little Mew and watched as nightmare jumped over to Raine's dressers and Seph laughed still holding to Raine. She had missed that little kitty too. Raine and nightmare were a package deal. One that Seph very much liked. She let go of Raine a little to push her hair behind her ears and then Raine gave her a little squeeze before letting her go and looking at her.


Raine had said for a second there she had thought Seph was going to cut her and Seph immediately frowned. You could never be too cautious these days. But Raine already knew that, So Seph wasn't exactly sure what to say. Things had been so tense since Kalona took over. Seph always had the knife with her, Especially since Kalona had snuck into the bedroom the other day. She shuddered at the the thought, She no longer left her window open when she went to sleep. She could explain all that to Raine later of course. Right now it was reunion time.

"Well you do look really different..but I wouldn't have cut you..Seriously though, New style and everything...Is that a tattoo?"she said with a bit of a laugh. She had missed her so much.

Seph watched as Raine frowned at the emptiness of her side of the room. Yes it was completely bare and that more than anything was sending Seph over the edge. When Raine voiced what Seph knew she had been thinking Seph kind of just nodded. It did look empty. Raine had given the room personality, without her it had all the personality of some emo kid who hated all things.

"It does look empty doesn't it? well at least now your back so you can add some life to the room again"Seph said with a smile trying to hide the sadness in her voice. She stopped looking at the side of the room. She looked at the person bringing in Raine's bags and kind of shrugged. Seph really didn't wanna know at the moment, they could talk about things later.

Raine brought nightmare over and put him in Seph's arms and she laughed genuinely smiling all over the place. She nuzzled the little kittens face as he nuzzled back. She loved this cat, She was glad to have him around again.

"Good cus i missed him too..so what happened? You are back to stay right? Seph asked sitting on her bed now. This was a fear she had, She was so hoping that this wouldn't be temporary but with Seph's luck, It probably would be.

Raine didn't like that Sephora was crying, but she figured that they were both just lucky that she wasn't! She knew Seph wasn't actually like....crying crying, so she let it go. She was just happy to be back in her old room! She had been dreading coming back for a while because it meant having to deal with the darkness in this place, and Raine wasn't really that good at dealing with stuff like that. But now that she was actually here? With her best friend? Well now she was damn good. It felt good to be with her again, she had missed her so much!

When Seph frowned at her comment she couldn't help but roll her eyes a bit. Seph always took things too seriously sometimes, it made the much more bubbly Raine want to laugh sometimes. "Nah, I know you wouldn't have really done it!" she said with a laugh for real that time. And then she mentioned Raine's tattoo and she grinned, tugging down the waistband of her pants and tugging up the bottom of her tank to show off the shooting star that was now emblazzoned over the scar that had once marred her hip. It had hurt like hell to get it done over her scar. But it symbolized something to Raine. That even with these scars, she was still gonna shine. "Hells yes that's a tattoo! Whatcha think?" she asked, the bubbliness that was Raine coming back after being so dormant the past couple of months. But Seph brought it out in her so easily.

Raine was Sephora's best friend. If she hadn't heard the sadness in her voice when she spoke of how empty their room was she'd have to like...demote herself. She wrapped her arms around Seph again, ignoring the look she shot Raine's Chauffeur, they'd talk about that later...she really couldn't call herself much of a best friend until she had finally told Seph more about her life...but that could wait. "Don't you worry! My crazy shit will have this place looking nuts again in no time, and then you'll wish I was gone again" she said with a wild grin. Raine was notorious for being insanely not neat...and Sephora had issues with things needing to be neat. Towards just before she had left, Raine had turned it into a game to see how often she could make Seph see the need to clean her half of the room.

Raine scooped to pull out a certain picture from her bags while Nightmare and Sephora nuzzled and placed it on her dresser. She didn't feel like she was home until one of the few surviving pictures of her and Selene made its way onto her dresser or nightstand. It came everywhere with her. She turned back to face Sephora and Raine with a grin, feeling more at easy now that it was up for reasons she could never explain. She smiled and scratched behind Nightmare's ear, making him purr louder if that was possible. "Traitor," she told the cat affectionately.

Then Seph was asking her questions. Raine plopped herself down on the bed next to Seph. She hadn't been trying, but thanks to Raine's affinity, and she now knew it to be an affinity, she always looked extremely graceful, even when she was trying to just be a teenager and flop around. She hugged Seph again, not caring that now Nightmare was mewling again, hating being squished. When she pulled back, she smiled at Seph but there was a seriousness in her eyes that she had aquired after she left. "Nah, you're totally stuck with me Seph, Like it or not" and then she did grin, laughing. What happened? Well..."Okay, this is gonna sound bizarre but I guess that's normal these days? Some woman in a dream told me I needed to come back...that you needed me" she said with a bit of a laugh. Raine listened to her dreams though, even when they sounded crazy.

Seph was smiling as she sat on that bed petting little Nightmare. She was still stuck in the this isn't real mode but could you really blame her? After all the fucked up shit that was going on, any semblance of happiness had to be questioned. She frowned a little at the thought, why did things have to get so fucked up? why did it bother her so? She should be used to change coming in her life with no warning. She sighed, frowning and touching her mothers necklace that never left her neck, Then Nightmare started swatting at it to get her attention and Seph smiled again, the little kitty had a habit of being able to make her smile. Just like Raine.


When Raine said she knew Seph wouldn't have done it, She just nodded and smiled. Seph had felt the need to explain it anyway. She would have to explain other things to Raine as well, but now was definitely not the time. When Raine tugged her pants and shirt to show off the tattoo more, Seph laughed, she had thought of getting a tattoo ,once or twice. The only problem was Seph never really knew what to get, and if she was going to get something it was going to mean something


"Wow that is wicked...I kinda want one too but I have no idea what i should get, That shooting star looks awesome on you though...Just like you being that your a star"Seph said with a small grin. It was true, Raine was really a star, what with her affinity for grace and amazing dancing skills,She should be lighting up every dance company across the united states by now.

Seph knew that Raine was going to hear the sadness in her voice no matter how she tried to hide it so when Raine wrapped her arms around her it was welcome and Seph couldn't help but hug her back. It had been so hard for Seph with Raine not here. Seph laughed when Raine made the comment about her stuff, and how she would be wishing Raine was gone again. Seph shook her head, Seph may have been anal retentive about everything being clean, but she would live in a pig sty just to have Raine back with her.

"No no, I most certainly will not be wishing you gone...as long as you keep all your clutter on your side of the room"She said only teasing and then laughing because she thought it was funny. She really missed laughter.

Raine called Nightmare a Traitor and Seph just laughed and nuzzled the adorable kitten some more. He wasn't a traitor, he loved them both and Seph certainly had no problem with sharing him.

Raine sat next her and told her that she was stuck with her and Seph breathed a sigh of relief. Raine was here to stay, what more could she ask for? She was about to respond when Raine told her the reason for coming back. Some lady had spoke to her in a dream and told her that Seph needed her and she had to go back. Seph sort stopped letting Nightmare go and looked at Raine. Was she serious? She knew she was but it felt so so weird...

"wow...Well do you have any idea who it was?"Seph asked concerned, Seph knew that she really did need Raine but she didn't wanna talk about any of that yet, She did wanna find out who this woman was however, and find out how she knew about her life and how it had been falling apart.

Raine grinned, positvely beaming under Sephora's praise of her new tattoo. It meant a lot to her that her best friend liked it, it really did. And maybe, when she chilled out enough, she would tell Sephora about the events that led up to her getting said tattoo, but that wasn't important for right that moment. She didn't need to remember New York, not when she was back here with Sephora in their comfortable old room and she was back where she felt like she belonged. SHe just wanted to be happy and comfy. And Seph automatically made her feel like that. Because Sephora was the strong one in Raine's eyes, the one who could withstand what Raine couldn't. SHe always felt stronger when she was with Sephora. "Ya really like it?" she asked again, grinning because she knew the answer. "If you want one though I could help! Maybe something elegant..." she started debating this in her head. Sephora was elegant and poised but also very strong...huh. She'd have to debate this one.

She was pulled back from her thoughts when Sephora mentioned that she was a star and she rolled her eyes. "I am only as skilled as my training, there are plenty of other strong dancers out there." she shrugged off the praise lightly. It was the truth. But then she grinned. "But thanks for the confidence in me!" she said with one of her usual bubbly laughs...glad to have laughter back in her system after it being gone for so long.

She was glad when Seph laughed. That had been the point of the comment after all, hadn't it? She had said it to lighten the mood and make Sephora happy again. SHe liked making Seph happy, it was practically her job. She was the bubbly one of this duo and she took her job very seriously indeed. She looked around the room. The currently half filled room but Raine would remedy that in a moment when she was done girl talking with Seph. Which wasn't just yet. It was all orderly as always. Seph practically had a place for everything and nothing was ever out of place when it came to her. She almost joked about her roommate getting tested for OCD. It was kind of funny in a way. Because Raine firmly believed a messy room was a sign of a creative mind. And Raine was very creative indeed. Aka she tended to toss things where they landed and leave them there. "You say this now.." she said, dragging off dramatically before collapsing into a fit of giggles.

"But seriously...I promise. My side only" she said, holding up her hand like she was giving an oath. SHe was in silly mode now. Poor Seph, she grinned. Poor Seph indeed...but she had a feeling that her bubbly nature would do everyone some good around here, not to toot her own horn. But she wasn't as bubbly as she used to be...she was trying very hard to hide that fact from her roommate and was happy to note that she was doing a dammed good job so far!

She was glad to see Seph simply nuzzle the little brat that was her kitten. She knew that she was the one to save the kitten, but it didn't surprise her that Nightmare was content in Seph's arms. For a long while she had begun to suspect that Nightmare had shifted to chose them both. Which was why he was so upset when they had moved away. She wasn't sure if she should mention it but hey...why not. Better to get it out in the open air. And say it bluntly, for she was Raine afterall. "Honestly...I think my little Nightmare chose you too Seph. I really do" she said with a smile for her best friend and roommate.

Raine flopped back on Sephora's neatly made bed when Sephora asked her about the dream and the Dream Lady. Of course Seph would want to know that. Want to get all the facts straight. So lets see...what did she remember exactly. THat was what she hated about dreams, the more you tried to grasp at them...the more they slipped away..."I have no idea..." she started, staring up at the cieling and squinting as if that could make her image of the woman clearer some how.

The next part she said quietly. As if she were just realizing it herself and this discovery was so very prescious to Raine. "She's the same woman who brough my sister to me in a dream though..." she trailed off, shutting her eyes against the memory.

Seph had never really thought that Raine would get a tattoo. Sure, Raine was crazy and bubbly, but a tattoo? She never would have of thought it. Seph liked it though, Raine really was a shooting star. She smiled, thinking that there was no other Tattoo that would suit her best friend so well. Seph really was wondering what kind would suit here, Something meaningful definitely, she wouldn't be like those random people who got tattoo's for no reason except to say that they have one. She shrugged, Raine would help her, she always did. It was one of the best things about her. Raine started to go off on what kind of Tattoo Seph could get and she rolled her eyes, Elegant? Her? HA!

"Something elegant? yea okay...she said with a small laugh Next thing I know you'll be telling me I'm a delicate little flower"she said with a mock and across her head as if she was guna faint, then she laughed. She was definitely no delicate little flower, no matter how many times she felt like one because sometimes she really did. She shrugged the thought off and paid attention to Raine.

Raine was playing modest, saying that she was only as strong as he training and blah blah blah, Seph put up her hand and rolled her eyes and made a blah blah blah motion. Was she serious? She knew very well that she was an amazing dancer, better than any dancer she had ever seen and surprisingly seph had seen a lot of dancers. "Your right, there are plenty of other strong dancers out there, but none of them are quite as strong as you"Seph said with a grin. Seph believed that whole heartedly and without question.

Raine was now commenting about Seph wanting be rid of her once Raine made the room all messy again. In reality Seph longed for the mess that was Raine, mess was better than the empty space in her room and the empty space in her heart once Raine had left. Seph sort of had OCD about cleanliness, but it was something she developed over the years. She wasn't like squeamish, she could be riddled with dirt or with blood and she would be fine, but if someone's necklace clasp was in the front or there room was a mess, she flipped. Everything had it's place in her eyes, and they would do well to stay there. "Yea, your promise your side nooow, but watch, once I leave the room for fencing practice or food I'm guna come back and the whole room will be a sty again"she said with a laugh and mock annoyance. She was really relishing in the fact that it would messy with Raine's things again.


Seph was nuzzling Nightmare, She loved this cat so much. Before when she and Raine had been dorming together before Kalona the dick head completely took over, Nightmare spent as much time on Seph's bed as he did on Raine's and he was Raine's cat. The thought made her laugh. Raine said she thought that nightmare had chosen Seph too and she just looked at her, Can cats do that? She thought mildly looking into the adorable little kittens face. "Can cats do that?...wait what am I saying? Cats can do what ever they want, Cant they Little one?" [she said and Nightmare purred in agreement and Seph laughed.


When Raine said she had no idea who the woman was Seph frowned, Someone random woman had said Seph needed her, she was right of course but still, "She was right you know..."Seph said quietly as she pet Nightmare, Then Raine said it was the same woman who brought her sister to her in a dream and Seph's head snapped up, Raine's sister was dead. "Really?...how?"Seph couldn't help but be curious and she hoped that Raine wouldn't be bothered by her curiosity, but a random dream lady bringing dead relatives to you was something to ask questions about.

Raine laughed when Sephora said the comment bit, but she had really meant what she had said about the elegant bit. Seph was the epitome of elegant to Raine...with a little bit of edge and roughness all thrown in. She admired Seph that way, and was proud to have the girl as her best friend. It was amazing how quickly the two had become as close as they were to Raine and she would do everything in her power to make sure that it stayed that way. They had clicked instantly despite how different they were and Raine did not intend to loose that.

She was glad her move back to New York, short as it was, hadn't done anything to hurt their friendship. She stuck out her tongue at Seph/ "Ew you're no delicate flower. You're way to strong and amazing for that." she said, feeling definant in that opinion. "But seriously...you are too elegant. In like...a strong kinda way. Like a blade. Ya know, all pretty and stuff but they can kick your ass?" she said with another bubbly giggle at the reference. Huh, maybe taht was something good for Seph, a blade of some sort...

Raine giggled, happy to see Sephora's more playful side yet again, even if it was a seriously sarcastic one. She thought she was damn good at bringing this side out at Seph if she did say so herself and it made her happy when she did. She batted away the other girl's "blah blah blah" hand and grinned. "I am pretty dang good, aren't I?" she said playfully. She knew she was good, but it was impossible for her to be away from the house long enough to really compete and get the contracts she so desprately longed for...soo she often just pushed it out of her mind entirely. It wasa better that way.

Raine hopped off Seph's bed and started to put away her stuff in the drawers that they had provided as usual in every room. It wasn't much...okay it was a lot. But Raine was really good at putting it away...and she got through about half before she got bored and flounced back over to the bed, flopping herself down on it again, laying next to Seph who was still sitting. She laughed at what Sephora saaid, it was true. Raine always tried to stay clean and stuff...but it never stayed for long before she forgot to put this away or that away...and it built up over time. Slowly but suddenly she'd be home and bam! All her stuff was everywhere. And Seph was such a neat freak, it made it a little funny that the pair of them lived together. "You know me too well" she said, grinning widely and scratching behind Nightmare's ear who still sounded like a motorboat with all his purring.

Raine grinned, happy at Seph's happiness and she didn't mind at all sharing Nightmare. Sephora was as much like Raine's sister as her friend and she was happy to share with Seph. More then happy to in fact. Besides, Seph had always wanted a kitty so if Nightmare chose them both, that was just a bonus, right? Raine sat up to look down at her kitten. "Night love...both of ours?" she asked, knowing he would answer and know what she was asking and was pleased when the kitty simply purred and closed his eyes in acknowledging what she said as truth. Yes! She still would most likely carry the little critter on her shoulder everywhere, but chances were she knew he would sleep on Seph's shoulder just as often!

Raine nodded when Seph said she was right. Well she knew that now, she could see that easily. But her mind was more on the other thing. Her sister. SHe owed the Dream Lady because she had given Raine one last time to see her sister. Her eyes were on her hands and suddenly she felt something soft and rumbling against her cheek. Nightmare had jumped from Sephora's hands to Raine's shoulder to try and comfort her. She smiled slightly and pet the kitten. It was okay. Seph could ask. It just wasn't...it wasn't something Raine spoke about alot.

She shrugged. "Dunno...but I owe her...she gave me...one last time to see my sis" she said, stalling a bit as she had to fight to get the words out, but the last bit came out in a rush...and she was surprised to feel tears on her cheek. Damn things. She reached up to push them away with scarred hands. No need for tears.

It was really hitting Seph that Raine was back, she had spent so much time sitting here being upset about Raine not being around that she had told herself that Raine was never coming back and now that she was here? She thought she was guna either cry or pinch herself just to make sure she wasn't hallucinating, with all the crazy crap that she had been going through lately, She wouldn't put it past her brain.

Seph laughed when Raine said she was not a delicate little flower and made a Ew sound, She said she was more like a blade and Seph looked down and pondered that, She kinda liked that, Swords and things were beautiful but they could do serious harm to you..She grinned slowly.

"That's It Raine! I think If I get a tattoo..It will be of some type of blade!"Seph grinned as she said that, it was like epiphany had just ran up her spine, that would be the perfect tattoo for her and she would love to go get one down now that she knew what she wanted.

Seph Grinned when Raine agreed about how good she was at dancing. She was amazing, Seph had never ever seen anyone better than her at dancing and she probably never would for as long as she lived. She smiled widely so she could respond. "You are extremely good friend..the best I have ever seen"

Seph watched Raine put her stuff in the drawers with a smile, She was so happy that Raine was putting her things in the drawers instead of taking them out like she had been when she was leaving, she pushed the thought out of her head, she didn't need to be thinking about Raine leaving, because she wasn't leaving anymore, no she was here to stay and that made Seph smile wide.

She told seph that she knew her too well and Seph laughed, She was right, She did know her too well, in the short time they had been best friends Seph and Raine acted like they had been best friends for years. She smiled at the thought, She planned on being best friends with Raine forever. Maybe true but the point is i still want the room clean..."She said with a half joking laugh.

When Nightmare had mewed his agreement about him being both of theres, Seph grinned so wide that she thought that she was going to blind Raine with how much teeth she was showing. She loved this kitten as if he was her own so him agreeing to being shared made her feel greatly honored. "I believe the best cat in the world is now being shared"She said with a smile a nuzzle to his soft fur.

Seph listened to Raine as she talked about the dream Lady and what she had done for her, She had noticed that little tears, were now falling on Raines face before she wiped them away and she frowned deeply. She didn't know what to do to help "Well...You came back like she said..I don't think you owe her anymore...Goddess Knows I needed you..but what are you guna do?"

Seph asked in a low voice, she was a little worried about Raine but she would just be quiet for now, She would comfort her if she needed her to or if she asked.

Raine grinned widely. She was happy to have gotten the idea for Seph's tattoo just right. Yes! She was skilled, thank you, thank you. She bowed to an imaginary audience with a grin. She was a silly nut, but she was happily a nut, thank you. And she hadn't been ever close to this happy and giggly in the months she had been far away from the best friend ever, she was entitled to be extra giggly and happy to make up for it, wasn't she? Besides...it would distract her from the things she didn't want to think about...distract her from thoughts of what had happened back when she was home in New York. No she was happy not to think about that, happy to stay with Seph who made her feel all happy again.

"Then we'll go soon!" she replied with a grin. Because you'd be stupid if you thought she was letting Seph go without her! Raine fully intended to be right there with her. Hell, she'd probably get a new one herself. "I'll pay for it too" she said with a grin. "As a yaaaaay I'm back gift" she said with another bubbly laugh. Raine had more money then she often knew what to do with and she'd be happier to spend it on Seph than anyone else really. She hated using it on clothes and shit, it made her feel like a spoiled brat, which she wasn't.

Raine smiled widely at Seph's comment about her being the best she'd ever seen but made no actual comment about it. She didn't see what there was to say! There was nothing so she didn't say anything. She didn't think she was the best there was and she knew Seph would argue that she was so she kept it to herself. She moved to put away her stuff then, giving up soon after she had put away less then half of her stuff and flopping right back down on Seph's bed happily. If flopped could be used to describe what she did, what with her affinity. She loved it. But seriously, she totally wanted to flop. For once. Right? Maybe.

They were back to the room being clean and she laughed. "Yeah, I'll try. I think." she said, bubbly laughter spilling from her lips once more as she did. She couldn't help it. She was a mess and totally didn't know how to clean up after herself. That and she never had the luxury of having a messy room before. Back home she had to deal with the facts that maids would clean her mess for her, and then she'd search for flipping hours trying to find the damn things that they had moved. She could never tell where some things went...

She shook her head, coming back down to earth and the bed where she was currently sitting with her best friend. She laughed at the bright grin she was getting before mirroring right back at her overly happy best friend. This was what she liked to see. She was happier when Seph was like this, happy and bright and laughing....not laying on the bed and pulling knives on whoever walked into the room. This was the Seph who was her best friend and roommate. And the best one ever at that! She scratched behind Nightmare's ears and she thought the little kitten was going to run out of breath or something for all his purring. The kitten was like a little motorboat. "Yes, yes he is" she laughed

And then they were talking about the Dream Lady again. She brushed the last of the tears from her cheeks. She didn't want to be sad. Not ever. Not again. She shook her head when Seph asked her what she'd do. She left to get away from Kalona because the man scared her more then she was ever willing to admit. Ever. "I'm not sure Seph....stay with you? Go to class? Avoid Kalona? Dance? All those sound like a plan to me. And honestly....anywhere's better then Home right now" she said softly, debating whether to tell Seph or not.

And then she figured that she should. Right? She couldn't look at Seph though, not while she talked about this. It was too hard to look at anyone and speak about this. She took a deep breath. And spoke. SHe was going to say it quick. "I was at a club two nights before I left for here Seph...Doing my thing you know? Turned down a guy or two because they couldn't dance. And one of them didn't like it" she stopped, pained when she thought about it. It had been a bad night, one she forced from her memory. But if anyone should know why she slipped into sadness a bit more these days, it was her best friend. It was hard to start talking again but she did. "I left late...really late. The rest of my group was gone and it was closing...He found me. Got me in an alley..." she stopped, and then closed her eyes, starting again with Nightmare licking her cheek, trying to comfort her. What she said next was so soft she wasn't sure Seph would be able to hear it. "And he raped me." She had blocked that part out. No details remained in her psyche. But it was hard to block out waking up beaten and battered in an alley.

She wanted to forget.
