The idea of teaching little fledglings who would most likely think they they could text or slack off during class did not appeal to Amelie at all. Neither did the idea of having to do it every week day. But some idiot with no brain cells had given Myrnin a chemistry class of all things, so Amelie was at the House to keep an eye on him...and needed a reason to do so. The House had just lost their Literature professor and Amelie had a passion for reading so she spposed she could get though an hour with this miscreants and maybe teach them something. As long as they didn't piss her off too much at the very least.
A fitted suit jacket sat open over a loose, light blue silk blouse, and white suit pants that matched the jacket covered her. Her white heals made a sharp rapping sticato as she moved down the hallway, her long icy blonde hair loose around her shoulders which seemed odd for a woman as no-nonsense as she was, but she hated putting her hair up for some reason. It was her heritage she supposed, for some reason. Either way, Sam, her Egyptian Mau, proceeded her into the room and she settled herself in the desk, organizing what she wanted to do with these students.
She watched them file in with no regards to them, she didn't even look up, just saw out of the corner of her vision. When the appointed time for class to start came, she stood, pushing away from the desk and Sam leapt from the desk to walk among the students, sniffing here or there, too curious and friendly for his own good if you asked Amelie. Either way. She surveyed the class with a non-chalance about her. Amelie was an icy woman, she wasn't mean she was just detached. From everything. "Hello class. I am Amelie, and no I do not care if your schedules call me 'Professor Bishop' I am not to be addressed as such. If you have a hang up with titles, you are welcome to call me Professor, but Bishop is not my name, regardless of what it says" she said, she needed to get that out there. She distanced herself from her past if possible. And that was the first way she did it.
"I would also like to make you aware that texting and goofing off is not allowed in the room. You will be kicked out or frozen depending on my mood, understood?" she said, continueing in that icy manner of hers. She wasn't mean....but she liked things to go her way and she intended for them to go that way. She needed to lay ground rules and she would. She had hinted at her affinity which gave her slight control over frost and freezing things, she failed to mention that it wasn't always intentional. It didn't need to be mentioned, really. She supposed she should get to the actual books they would be reading this semester like a traditional teacher would. But instead she shifted to sit in the chair behind the desk, sitting like a regal creature because she didn't know how to sit other wise. It was bred into her.
"Now then... she started softly, scanning the room and the students that were in it. She recognized Astraea Dike, the girl she had employed to Myrnin, and no others. Oh well, she should fix that shouldn't she? She scanned over the list in front of her. "Now then. I'm going to go around the room, state your name, the last book you read and a book that profoundly changed your life plus why...if you don't have one, make it up. I promise I won't know the difference" she said, a slight smile curling up the corner of her lips. She wasn't all ice after all.

Sheesh first Stark, then Myrnin, now Amelie? So far Raea wasn't having a good school day. Myrnin was super embarrassing and now she had to deal with the girl that got her the job with Myrnin! She grumbled on her way back to the campus and entered the school with just enough time to go to the Lit classroom.
She fixed her shirt and was still grumbling when she entered the classroom. She sat down in a desk and looked up at Amelie. Beautiful, just icy. She sighed and grabbed her book so she had something to do until class started. When she heard heard Amelie start talking she put her book on the desk and just listened.
She knew the deal, don't call the professor by the name on the schedule, she was already calling Amelie Miss, her name wouldn't be that different. She also heard the no texting and goofing off rule and she turned off her phone. It wasn't like anybody would text her in class, her boy was a good student, and her "big sister" was a technophobe and Ki was too busy doing some other shit. She watched Amelie move from in front of her desk to sitting back down like before class, and she saw her sit very regal.
Raea then noticed that she was sitting close to the front, bad idea. Ah well, can't move now. So Amelie wanted her students to say their name, last book they read and a book that changed their life. Raea had to think a bit on the books. Let's see.... The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown was the last book she read cover to cover, and the book that changed her life was her first book she ever read. She didn't want to speak first though, but it kinda looked like she had to. "My name's Raea Dike, the last book I read was The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown and the book that changed my life was the first one I read "Greek Gods and Myths" because I am now obsessed with them."
She didn't say that she met one of them, that would just make her look crazy.
Muse: Eh she's awake enough for me to write this without procrastinating. Words: 390 Comments: *shrugs* nothing here.

Class? Seph sighed as she stood there in her room. Normally Seph had no complaints about class. She went she did her work and then she left same as anyone else she knew. She just didn't feel it today. She didn't want to be there while some Prof. told her about things she most likely already knew.
She sighed as she stood in the mirror and brushed out her long dark hair. She was only even taking the time to actually get ready because she was probably guna hang out after class. Maybe go and hang with The BP or go and find Raine and get some best friend time in. Otherwise she would have just threw herself together and kept it going.
She put on the bowler she had bought and stretched out the suspenders she was wearing. She had suspenders attached to her black skinny jeans because she was going for a certain look with her outfit today. She just kinda felt like it. At least this was something she had energy for. She had on a white tee and her black combat boots and of course her mothers necklace sitting against her neck, Seph touched it and then brought it to her mouth to kiss it before grabbing her bag with her books in it before leaving the room.
The night air was brisk and Seph could feel the goosebumps raising on her skin as she walked. She didn't really care though, Seph didn't like coats. Coats confined and made her feel like she was stuck inside of them. Seph had never liked that. So she shrugged it off as she walked along the grass her big boots crunching it as she walked.
She walked over to the hall with all the Classrooms and she sighed as she walked inside, still not in the mood for it in the slightest. She knew what she had now too. She had literature and as much as that would normally excite Seph she was not feeling it at all. She walked into the room and saw the professor and took a seat right near Raea. She smiled a bit as she sat down next to her, he sweet friend.
She wacked her on the arm and sat back in her chair and took her note book out of her bag and put it on the table, opening it to the first place and then she looked up and studied the teacher. She looked like a very unhappy woman. Seph didn't know if she was or not but Seph wasn't here to find out the woman's life story. She was here to learn from her. This better be good.
The woman spoke and her voice was like ice chips that cut you. She was definitely not a happy woman. Seph frowned a bit as she spoke sitting there saying basically that she wasn't messing around. Seph didn't care. Seph didn't goof off in class. She never had. She never would. The prof or Amelie as she said she wanted to be called, asked them to say the latest book they had read and one that had changed her life. Seph thought for a moment. The last book she had read was easy, but one that changed her life was something else. But Raea had just gone so it was her turn.
"Well..I just read Tithe by Holly Black...One that changed My life would have to be To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee...Made me Love reading"Seph had read that when she was young...But it had of course changed her life in a way right? She wasn't taking this seriously anyway. She looked around at some empty seats and wondered where other people she knew were. Oh well. Class wasn't for socializing anyway.

Late for class, late for class, late for class
That was Raine’s constant mantra as she booked it across the campus. She had stayed a little bit late to figure out the last move the teacher had showed her at dance today, and really, it was just a little bit late. Nothing huge, only like fifteen minutes. She hadn’t meant to do it, but her dance usually came first in her mind. The only thing was that writing and English class was her second love. And now she was late. She was so late. She had stopped in the room for a moment to change out of her dance stuff and grab her books because she never took them with her to dance.
And then she realized she was late.
Frick, frick, frick she had thought over and over, being that Raine never cursed that was as bad as she got on the cursing scheme of things. But it was pretty bad for her to be getting that bad. She pulled on a pair of loose jeans and snagged her leather jacket, sliding it over her shoulders and slipping her bag, with Gir on the front, over her shoulder. Next in order was a rice cake, which she was fricken in love with, that was slid into her mouth, so she looked like a friggen dog, and she bolted it.
She weaved in and out of people as she passed, trying to get to class and munch on her impromptu breakfast as she went. Crud. Move it people! She nearly swore as she almost skidded around a corner, only her affinity for grace keeping her upright.
There was the classroom! A quick check of the clock showed her she was only five minutes late, hells yes score! She grinned a bit and plopped herself out of breath behind Sephora, sliding her books on to her desk afterwords. And finishing the last bite of what would be the only thing she’d eat til lunch, oh well. That’s what she got for running behind. She ducked her head to avoid the icy new professor’s glare at her being late, relying on her new tradition of ducking behind Seph when it looked like people would kill her for some reason or another.
She tried to catch her breath without being too loud and listen to what the prof was saying at the same time. Okay, name book and book that affected her most, got it.
Well, Seph went and Raine nodded a bit at the answer, she had seen Seph reading that before, no shocker there really. What was the last book she had read? Did she remember? She sighed a bit and tried to remember, she had been so busy with dance she hadn’t been reading and really? That needed to change because usually she was really into reading as much as was possible! But now it was her turn, she had to speak, she blushed a bit when she noticed the class paying way too much attention to her. ”Oh, right…hi. I’m Raine, the last book I read was Shattered Mirror, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes…and the book that effected me most? Well…it used to be something different, but now it’s Speak” and Raine didn’t intend to share why that was her latest best book. It was personal….for reasons only Seph would know.

Seth hated school. He hated class. He hated it all. He didn’t like going, hell he’d rather have been dead for real rather than go. Seth was actually quite brilliant, he had left his family originally to study after all, and in the end that chance had been taken from him…when…well when he had run afoul of a gang and they had changed him, made him more of a killer, more hardened and fierce. He had once been a scholar, he had once cared about things like learning, and he ate up all the knowledge that he could handle as fast as he could. Funny how that disappeared after a few years in a gang. Funny how long ago that seemed.
He had first killed someone when he was only 13. It was enough to do irreparable damage, and looking at Seth today, you saw it. But had either been him or the other kid…and Seth had chosen to live. He still did that today, even if it hurt others. He saw his own life as precious, even after dying, and he intended to live it to the fullest.
Which did not involve actually going to class.
It was a waste of his fucking time. So why was he going today? Well, he was going for two reasons. One, he had heard there was a new lit prof and was interested to see how she ran things, if she caught his interest he may actually keep going. It was a slim chance but it did exist slightly a little bit. The second was because one Sephora Taryn shared his lit class. That was one hell of an incentive to go if you asked him.
Darius wasn’t in the room when Seth got home from one of his many runs and the boy figured that was because his roommate was either off bench pressing or busy with a chick, he didn’t care either way. He didn’t need another speech about how his balls were in an Easy Bake oven. I mean really, it was just getting old now. Though his friends fascination with balls in easy bake ovens made him wonder what traumatic event had happened in his child to make this still an issue with the boy today. He also decided that he didn’t care enough to really think about it for much too long. It was slightly none of his business and…just plain weird to think about.
He tossed on a loose black shirt over his torso to go with his, see if I care, sweatpants. He knew he looked lazy, but that was probably because he was.
Getting to class, he noticed Seph right away, and grinned at her. If he knew the girl as well as he liked to think he did, she would be face palming in a moment and cursing her luck. Sounded like Seph to him. He liked to think that he knew her well enough, though not well enough to read her like an open book, because that would be no fun for him. He liked his mystery. With a bit of a frown he noted that a girl was in the desk behind her. Oh well, that just meant he couldn’t bother his latest challenge from behind, but he could bother her from the side just as easily. He grinned a bit as he settled into the chair to her right. The answers to the class the teacher had asked, but Seth, sitting where he was, had lucky managed to miss his turn. Lucky him. He hadn’t planned that, no, not at all.
Okay, yeah he totally had, surprised? He hoped not.
He shook his head and grinned at both girls next to him. ”Well lucky me, two beautiful girls in one class” he said, sending a little wink to the blonde he didn’t know. Normally he would have directed the comment towards Seph without a second thought, but really? He just wanted to see how she reacted to him flirting with other girls. If she reacted how he’d hope she’d react, well then he would know that he was getting to her.
And that was the plan.
Comments: Yes, he did just entirely ignore the entire class for her.

Tyrone Ramsey
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, Fifteen percent concentrated power of will. Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain, And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!
.xXx.
Ty wasn’t one that enjoyed rushing himself. Things took time, so it was to be damn-well expected that he would do exactly that, and take all the time he needed when finding his class. Even for a new experience, such as school. He’d never really been to a school, but he wasn’t all that excited. At home, school was where hell took place. It was a place where, if any sort of weapon got past security, kids would end up wounded or maybe even dead. And most people thought of schools as safe places. Psht, they had no idea. Ty walked down the hall slowly, his belt-less jeans hanging just under his hips. There was a little low-riding going on there, but not enough to get him into too much trouble. Last thing he needed was to get stuck into detention because some fuckin’ teacher saw his ‘undies.’ He wore a black muscles shirt reading ‘JUST EASY AS BEAT,” with a black hoodie over top, just in case the school didn’t let sleeveless run, either. His black and grey flat-hat rested sideways on his head as he walked down the hall, looking from room to room, attempting to locate his class. Why’d they all have to go by numbers, anyways? Why couldn’t they just label the fuckin’ door with the class? Idiots. Tyrone shook his head a little, before looking up at the clock on the wall. Great. Fifteen minutes late. He gave a sigh in annoyance, before finally spotting his classroom. With ease, Ty walked into the room, ignoring the stares he got from his classmates, as well as the teacher, and sat down in the very back. He removed his hat, because he knew he wasn’t allowed to wear it in class, and leaned back against his chair, crossing his arms. He already hated school. It was too quiet, and too... Ordered. Ty was used to the complete opposite. He leaned down to grab a pencil from his binder, and started tapping it silently against his other hand. He needed to keep moving, or swear to god, he’s snap. It was then he got a grasp on what they were doing. Oh, fuck it all, he thought stubbornly. He didn’t want to do all this little... Introducing himself, shit. He just wanted to get out of here. Fuck. He leaned further into his chair, rolling up the sleeves of his hoodie, as he listened to people speak. Hey, he had to admit, there were some pretty hot girls in the class. Huh. Maybe he could live with it, after all. A small smirk tugged at Ty’s lips, right before he realised it was his turn. Ugh. “Oh, shit, my turn.” He muttered, before looking up at the teacher. He’d sworn in front of the class. Greeeat first impression. “Oh, uh. Sorry.” He said, before pausing to think. Had he ever really read a book? Fuck, he didn’t know. Ty simply looked at the teacher and smirked, shrugging his shoulder. “And, uh... I ain’t read no book. But m’ name’s Tyrone. Ty works.” He said in his deep, very masculine voice. So what if he was in a Literature class. Everyone could deal with how he talked. He didn’t do the whole... “Where art thou,” crap. It was lame, anyways. Ty shrugged again, before dropping his pencil down on his desk. He might have been what most considered as a ‘troubled delinquent,’ but, do you think he cared? Nope. He could act how he wanted, where he wanted. He’d been doing that for his entire life, and no school would be stopping him now. He just had to hope the authority didn’t mind. ‘Cause if they did, he was screwed.
Who the hell is he anyway? He never really talks much, Never concerned with status but still leaving them star struck! Words: 695 Muse: Eh Notes: First post with him. Ahem. He's interesting. Outfit: Click![/blockquote]

Post by Darius Night on Feb 4, 2011 22:45:13 GMT -5
Darius did not want to get up right now. No, getting up was the last thing that was on his mind. He wanted to stay in bed. He pulled the covers over his head as he laid in the bed in the room he had in the tunnels.
He knew he was going to have to get up though. His alarm clock was going to go off at any time. He knew it, he could tell that it was going to go off. He could just feel it.
5...4...3...2...1..
The alarm rang like a trumpet and Darius groaned and grabbed his pillow pulling it over his ears so that it would muffle the sound. It didn't do much but that was mostly because of the fact that Darius's hearing was great since he was red.
He sighed throwing back the covers and sitting up, his locket bounced around his neck and placed it firmly back by his chest and grabbed a black tee of the side of his bed to throw on. He stood and yawned. Did he have to get up now? He groaned a bit a bit and grabbed his trench coat.
He threw it on and he yawned a bit as he did walking up and out of the tunnels. He felt a bit annoyed as he did. He liked the tunnels, they felt like home. He sighed as he walked towards the House of night and towards his class. He had so many better things to do right now rather than go to class. He could be with a girl. so much more important.
Not that he didn't love literature. He loved reading and read often when he wasn't sleeping with random women or just hanging out with Seth. Seth was going to be in class so at least that would be good.
He smiled as he walked into the hall where the classes were and just walked into the room and then walked into the class. He was late. He knew he was. Having a war with the alarm clock had postponed him a bit. "Sorry bout that" he said smiling a little sheepishly and then just walked over to the desk near Seth. Seth was near Sephora and he rolled his eyes because he saw it coming. That boy never gave up and he was near Sephora's friend. Raine. Darius grinned. "Sup? he said grinning and looking suggestively at her. Perhaps class wouldn't be so bad for him after all.

Literature was a class that Seph could not complain about. How could she? She was girl who loved to read. She smiled a bit as she spoke about what the professor had asked them to speak about books of course.
She loved Reading and nothing about reading was complicated or anything, reading was simple. All you had to do was read and pay attention and then immerse yourself into the story. What was so hard about that?
Raine came running in late as usual and Seph rolled her eyes as she sat behind her and turned towards her to say "your late"before turning back to the front of the room and listening as she said her books and then Seph relaxed into the back of her seat. Class was going to be pretty boring.
That was when he walked in, Seph had a habit of looking towards the door every so often it was just something she did and right now she was wishing that she hadn't because look who was coming along. Seth Horus.
Seph could already feel the heat on her face and she immediately looked away back at the professor. What was he doing here? Did he have to be around? Was he here to torture her or something?
She sighed a bit and looked at the professor as she felt him sit near her. Fuck. Fuck Fuck. She needed to pay attention but how could she pay attention with him around fucking up her balance? Raine was bound to notice something. He spoke saying he was lucky because of their being two beautiful girls here. Seph's cheeks burned.
It wasn't because she was flattered by the compliment or anything like that. It was because he had said two, which meant he was talking about Raine and for some odd reason it pissed her off. She turned toward him pushing up her bowler on her head so he could see her "Shut up...this is a class"
Seph was freaking out. What was she going to do now? Someone else came in and Seph looked at them and listened to the guy talk. He seemed flustered and he cursed out loud. Seph would have almost felt bad for him if it wasn't for the fact that he was guy.
She watched as someone else came in and Sat behind Seth and started grinning at Raine. Some other loser, Seph glared at him fully and then turned back towards the teacher trying to deal with how aware she was that he was near her and how worried she was that Raine would see her blushing. See that she knew him.
She hadn't told her about what had happened in Atlantis , she knew that Raine would have spazzed out and that was something she didn't want to happen. Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck. She looked down at her desk and sighed a bit.
She was just going to focus on her working. She was just focusing on the professor. She couldn't deal with him right now. or how her heart was skipping beats now. Fuck her with a brick she was screwed...
